Dozens of ancient paving tiles, bearing the seal impressions of the 10th Roman Legion, were found in a vehicle during an operational activity by the Jerusalem Police District detectives in the Arab Shuafat neighborhood in the eastern part of the city. The police detained the suspect and called the Antiquities Authority's Robbery Prevention Unit inspectors to the scene.

Palestinian Authority construction is systematically destroying an important archaeological site in western Samaria, in the area designated as Area C by the Oslo Accords and within Israeli sovereignty. In the meantime, the local authorities in charge of the area refrain from enforcing the law to protect the site.

In an operation by the Israeli police in Kfar Kanna and the robbery prevention unit of the Antiquities Authority, a Jewish burial cave was uncovered in the Galilee last Sunday. This is new evidence of a Jewish settlement that took place there in the second century AD. As part of an operational activity, Kfar Kanna station policemen and Antiquities Authority inspectors arrived at a private lot in the Mashhad Regional Council.

During excavations conducted by the Israeli Antiquities Authority in the city of David in the national park surrounding the walls of Jerusalem, a small fragment of a stone tablet with an inscription that was seemingly used for economic purposes, a receipt of some sort, was discovered. The tablet dates back to the early Roman or late Hasmonean rule in Israel.

A ship's cargo, which includes huge marble items from 1800 years ago during Roman rule in Israel was discovered in the shallow waters off Yanai beach in Israel, about 200 m from the shore. This is the first cargo of its kind known in the Eastern Mediterranean, which includes Corinthian column caps decorated in a plant motif, caps in a raw state that were partially carved, and huge marble column beams, up to 6 m long. It seems that the valuable items were intended for the construction of a magnificent public building, a temple, or perhaps a theater.
