Based on historical literature, it is known that in 1466 Adrian von Bubenberg, a famous  Swiss Knight, visited Jerusalem as part of a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Hundreds of years later these written historical testimonies were brought to life. As part of a study conducted by the archaeologist Michael Chernin and the photographer, Shai Halevi in the David's Tomb complex examining inscriptions of pilgrims, Adrian Von Bubenberg’s name and family symbol were unexpectedly discovered on one of the walls.

In yet another incident that proves there is a state-run effort within the Palestinian territories to whitewash any evidence of an ancient Jewish presence in the Land of Israel, Palestinian Authority workers arrived earlier this week at an archaeological site in Samaria and completely destroyed it. Pictures taken before and after the incident shows how all the ancient stones that made up the Hasmonean era arch are completely dismantled and scattered all over the ground.

A cache of 44 pure gold coins was recently discovered in the ancient Banias site within the Hermon River Nature Reserve during an excavation by the Antiquities Authority. The excavation at the site is being conducted in preparation for connecting the 'Makam Nabi Khidir' site, which is sacred to the Druze, to the electricity grid.

One of the most famous attractions in the Old City of Jerusalem is on the verge of collapse, and engineers are warning that if that should happen, it would be catastrophic.

All who walk from the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City to the Western Wall will pass through or by the carved Roman columns and the famous arches that make up the Cardo. The exciting archaeological discovery was uncovered following the liberation of Jerusalem in the Six Day War. The Cardo is certainly a living testimony to ancient Jerusalem in the Roman and Byzantine periods. However, the ancient find, which is also one of the most important tourist attractions in the city, is in clear and immediate danger of collapsing.
