One of Israel's hottest chefs, Moshiko Gamlieli

After a quiet and intriguing soft opening, the new restaurant of Moshiko Gamlieli’s at the Alberto Hotel in Tel Aviv is officially opened. Just like Gamliali’s other restaurant, “Bar 51”, His new place, “Radler”, is also on its way to becoming a hysterical hit and it won't be easy to get seats here.

There is something most foodies in Tel Aviv will tell you about the new Radler restaurant by Chef Moshiko Gamliali, it is guaranteed to be a success. Even before the official opening, the place had a vibe that shouts "the right place at the right time". With a lively bar adjacent to the restaurant space all inside a small part of the Albert hotel in the heart of Nachalat Binyamin Street, this European-like haunt is something that cannot be missed.

Gamliali is already behind one of the places with the most talked about restaurants in Tel Aviv, the always busy “Bar 51”. Now, he is focused on recreating the hype at record speed for the new “Radler”.

The evening in the stylish restaurant begins in a more polished and formal style and as the night goes on the music gets louder and the dark and bustling bar atmosphere flows into the central space. Gamliali's partner, Nadav Laor, has an extensive background in the field of restaurants and also specializes in places where the food is highlighted and complimented by the atmosphere. Establishments such as “Cafe Populaire” and “Chikti” are examples of Laor's work.

Radler's menu is full of small dishes from a tasting menu that are 'fun' to eat in what some say is a game changer from standard bar food. From pickled picanha (Brazilian Cut of Meat) and raclette cheese, Roasted beetroot salad with rigella, pecorino cheese, and charred tomatoes that give the dish a smoky and surprising aroma, and sea fish tataki on zucchini with green chile pesto; it really an explosion of flavors.

The larger dishes include options such as cheek and herb tortellini in Persian-style beef stock, an excellent locust skewer on pasta in a rich Boivaz sauce, and sirloin with pickled egg yolk and soy sauce.

As in many, if not all, places in Tel Aviv and the entire country, the prices are far from cheap. The appetizer dishes range from NIS 32-78 for and between NIS 82-168 for entrées.

The “Radler” will be a hard table to book and it is advised to call a few days in advance. However, the amazing bar is open for walk-ins as well and serves cocktails alongside a variety of small plates.
