Video snippet of IDF multiple strikes on Beirut's Dahiya stronghold

In a bold and strategic series of airstrikes, the Israel Air Force (IAF) launched an intense campaign targeting key Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut’s southern suburbs and southern Lebanon. These meticulously planned operations, carried out on Tuesday, struck at the heart of Hezbollah's military and command capabilities, delivering a significant setback to the terror organization.

Precision Strikes Take Out Hezbollah Leadership and Infrastructure

The IAF reported conducting six high-profile strikes in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district, a Hezbollah stronghold. Among the critical targets hit were the terror group’s coast-to-sea missile unit and several fortified command centers. These facilities were embedded deep within civilian areas, a deliberate tactic by Hezbollah to use innocent Lebanese citizens as human shields.

In a statement, the IDF emphasized its commitment to minimizing civilian casualties despite Hezbollah’s inhumane tactics:

“Hezbollah deliberately embedded its command centers within civilian areas, using the Lebanese civilian population as a human shield. The IDF took every precaution, employing aerial surveillance and issuing evacuation warnings to reduce harm to non-combatants.”

Earlier in the day, IDF Arabic spokesperson Colonel Avichay Adraee issued warnings on social media, urging civilians to evacuate buildings near Hezbollah sites. His message on X (formerly Twitter) was explicit:

> “You are located near Hezbollah facilities and interests, against which the IDF will operate in the near future. For your safety and the safety of your family members, you must evacuate these buildings and those adjacent to them immediately.”

Expanded Operations in Southern Lebanon

In addition to the strikes in Beirut, the IAF extended its offensive to southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah’s strategic assets in areas like Bint Jbail and Tyre. Key operations included:

  • Destruction of Weapons Depots: Precision airstrikes obliterated weapons storage facilities and anti-tank missile caches.
  • Neutralization of the Nasser Unit: Hezbollah’s elite operational unit suffered significant losses as their warehouses were decimated.
  • Elimination of a Senior Hezbollah Commander: Ahmad Sabhi Hazima, head of Hezbollah’s coastal operations unit, was killed in Tyre. Hazima was a mastermind behind numerous terror plots, including infiltration attempts and anti-tank missile attacks on northern Israeli communities.

The IDF underscored the strategic importance of Hazima’s elimination:

“This operation further cripples Hezbollah’s ability to launch terrorist activities from southern Lebanon against Israeli civilians. Hazima’s removal is a major blow to the terror group’s coastal operations.”

Mounting Pressure on Hezbollah’s Military Network

Tuesday’s strikes are part of a broader campaign by the IDF to dismantle Hezbollah’s operational infrastructure. Over 30 additional targets were struck across southern Lebanon, including weapons depots, command centers, and key logistics hubs. These actions underscore Israel’s resolve to neutralize threats emanating from Hezbollah-controlled territory.

A Message to the Region

This escalating confrontation signals Israel’s unwavering commitment to its security and sovereignty. Hezbollah’s brazen attempts to fortify its positions within civilian areas have not deterred Israel’s precision military operations. Instead, they have highlighted the terror organization’s disregard for human life—both Israeli and Lebanese.

The strikes also send a clear message to Hezbollah’s leadership: Israel will not tolerate aggression or allow its northern border to become a staging ground for terror.

As the IDF continues its mission to dismantle Hezbollah’s terror network, the international community is reminded of the complex challenges Israel faces in defending its citizens while upholding moral standards of warfare. The coming days will likely see further operations as the IDF tightens its grip on Hezbollah’s infrastructure, ensuring the safety and security of Israel’s northern communities.
