In a harrowing act of terror, the city of Haifa was shaken by a brutal stabbing and shooting attack at the Lev Hamifratz Mall, near the city's central bus station. The assault, which unfolded in the early hours of the evening, has left one man dead and at least five others wounded—two of them fighting for their lives. The terrorist responsible for the heinous act was swiftly neutralized by security forces on the scene.

Chaos and Bloodshed Unfold

According to initial reports, the attack began when an armed assailant stormed the bustling shopping mall, indiscriminately targeting civilians with both gunfire and a bladed weapon. Magen David Adom (MDA) medics arrived within minutes, providing life-saving treatment to six victims. Among them, two were critically injured by gunfire, though it remained unclear whether they were civilians or accomplices of the terrorist.

In a scene of sheer panic, shoppers and commuters scrambled for cover as the attacker wreaked havoc. Police forces flooded the area, conducting urgent searches to ensure no additional threats remained. Reports later confirmed that the terrorist was taken down by an armed security guard, preventing further carnage.

Victims and Medical Response

Tragically, a 70-year-old man, gravely wounded in the attack, succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at Rambam Hospital. Among the survivors, medical personnel are fighting to save three critically wounded individuals, including a 30-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old boy. A 70-year-old woman remains in moderate condition.

MDA Director General Eli Bin detailed the grim toll: “MDA medics and paramedics are providing urgent treatment to five injured victims, including one in critical condition, three in serious condition, and one in moderate condition.”

Authorities Mobilize, Investigation Underway

In the immediate aftermath, Police Commissioner Lt. Gen. Danny Levy rushed to the scene to oversee the situation. Speaking to reporters, a police spokesperson confirmed, “This was a coordinated terrorist attack. Police forces remain on high alert as we continue to investigate the possibility of additional perpetrators.”

United Hatzalah teams also deployed emergency personnel to the scene. A spokesperson from the organization described the attack as an “unusual and severe incident” on Histadrut Boulevard, emphasizing that medical responders were working under urgent conditions to stabilize the wounded.

Social Media Erupts: ‘This Is What Palestinian Terror Looks Like’

The attack has ignited an explosive reaction on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where prominent pro-Israel figures have condemned the violence. Investigative journalist and outspoken critic of anti-Israel bias, David Collier (@Mishtal), posted a blistering statement:

“Haifa… another Palestinian terror attack. People who support ‘Palestinian resistance’ in the West—this is what it looks like. Radical Islamic terrorists hunt innocent civilians in a bus station and attempt to murder them. I hope you feel proud.”

The surge of online outrage underscores growing tensions as Israelis grapple with an unrelenting wave of terrorist violence.

Rising Threat Level and Calls for Action

Security officials warn that this latest attack is part of a troubling pattern of escalating violence. The fact that it occurred in a major transportation hub in Haifa—a city often regarded as a symbol of coexistence—has sent shockwaves across the nation. Authorities are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as they work to prevent further attacks.

This horrific incident serves as yet another grim reminder of the ever-present threat of terrorism in Israel. As the nation mourns the loss of yet another innocent life, the resolve to combat terror remains stronger than ever.
