In a bold move that underscores Israelโ€™s firm stance against foreign interference and misinformation, Israeli authorities have deported two British Labour Party Members of Parliament who attempted to enter the country under what officials called a false pretense of diplomatic engagement.

Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed, both members of the UKโ€™s ruling Labour Party, were denied entry upon arrival at Israelโ€™s Ben Gurion International Airport on Saturday. The pair flew in from Londonโ€™s Luton Airport, claiming to be part of an โ€œofficial parliamentary delegationโ€โ€”a claim Israel immediately rejected as a fabrication.

โ€œThese individuals were not here on any legitimate diplomatic mission,โ€ the Israeli Immigration Ministry said in a statement cited by Sky News. โ€œRather, they intended to document and distort the activities of Israeli security forces while spreading hostile, anti-Israel incitement under the guise of fact-finding.โ€

Propaganda Disguised as Diplomacy

Both MPs have histories of aggressively anti-Israel rhetoric. At least one of them, Abtisam Mohamed, has parroted Hamas talking points in British Parliament, uncritically citing casualty figures from the so-called "Gaza Health Ministry"โ€”a body run entirely by Hamas, a designated terrorist organization by the UK, US, and EU.

In January, Mohamed went as far as accusing Israel of "ethnic cleansing" in Gaza and urged the UK to declare any future Israeli settlements there "illegal." These comments were in direct alignment with Hamas's propaganda narrative and were rightly condemned by Israel and many observers as deeply misleading and inflammatory.

Foreign Office Meltdown

In response to Israelโ€™s decisive action, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy released a sharply worded statement, calling the deportation โ€œunacceptable, counterproductive, and deeply concerning.โ€ He reiterated the MPsโ€™ claim that they were on an โ€œofficial delegation,โ€ despite Israelโ€™s evidence to the contrary.

โ€œI have made clear to my counterparts in the Israeli government that this is no way to treat British Parliamentarians,โ€ Lammy protested. โ€œWe have been in contact with both MPs to offer our support.โ€

Critics swiftly pointed out the irony: while British MPs spread misinformation from Hamas-controlled sources and condemn Israel in Parliament, Lammy expects them to be welcomed with open arms by a country they consistently vilify.

Security First, Politics Second

Israeli officials have made clear that national security takes precedence over political courtesy, especially when it comes to individuals who traffic in anti-Israel libels and attempt to exploit diplomatic immunity to spread disinformation.

โ€œThese were not truth-seekers,โ€ one Israeli official said off-record. โ€œThese were activists masquerading as lawmakersโ€”coming to collect selective footage, twist facts, and lend legitimacy to a terrorist-run narrative. We will not play host to propaganda.โ€

No Comment from the Accused

Both Yang and Mohamed have remained publicly silent since the incident. Their lack of comment has raised further questions about the true purpose of their attempted visit.

While criticism of Israelโ€™s policies is not new, what makes this case especially galling for Israelis is the willful reliance on Hamas-supplied โ€œdataโ€ and the attempt to paint a genocidal terror group as a credible source while Israel, a democracy under constant rocket fire, is cast as the villain.

The Bigger Picture

This diplomatic clash is yet another example of how some Western politicians are increasingly falling prey to Hamas's media manipulation tactics. With Israeli hostages still held in Gaza and Hamas operatives hiding in hospitals and schools, Israel continues to fight not just a military battle, but also a war for truth in the international arena.

While the UK foreign office may cry foul, Israel has sent a clear message: those who seek to delegitimize and demonize the Jewish state under the pretense of diplomacy will not be given a platform within its borders.
