A controversial agreement between Israel, the soccer association FIFA and Qatar, was reached on Thursday that will allow direct flights from Ben Gurion to Doha during the soccer World Cup matches. The agreement ensures that Israelis and Palestinians will have all necessary services while attending the World Cup.

If there are no last-minute surprises, the United Nations Special Committee on Politics and Decolonization is expected to approve, with a majority vote, the latest Palestinian proposal calling for an urgent opinion of the UN International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the legal definition of 'The Ongoing Israeli Occupation.'

Ministers from European countries and dozens of senior parliamentarians from across the continent gathered Monday at the site of the Auschwitz extermination camp, as part of the conference of leaders to fight antisemitism held by the Union of Jewish Organizations in Europe. An impressive crowd was seen, however, Polish officials seemed to be absent. Their very much-felt absence is likely due to a recent deterioration in relations between Israel and Poland.

Likud member and former minister Tzachi Hanegbi said in an interview on Israel's Channel 12 news that Netanyahu is likely to attack Iran during his expected upcoming term. "In my estimation, Netanyahu will work in this term to destroy the Iranian nuclear threat," Hanegbi said. "In my opinion, there will be no choice," he clarified. According to him, "It's like the story of Begin in '81 and Olmert in 2007."
Hanegbi was referring to Prime Minister Menachem Begin's decision to go after Saddam Hussein's nuclear weapons plant in 1981, and Ehud Olmert's decision to bomb a suspected Syrian nuclear site being built by North Korea in September of 2007.
