Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in a video address yesterday

The Israeli Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, visited the northern district Tuesday afternoon as part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff drill taking place, and commented on the development of the new Iranian missile and calmly said: "I hear our enemies bragging about various weapon developments, for anything like that, we have an appropriate response."

The visit took place as part of an extensive exercise that the Israel Defense Forces and the Ministry of Defense are conducting these days and in the shadow of the growing tensions with Iran and its influence in the region, led by Hezbollah. On Monday, as part of the exercise, the minister visited the headquarters of the Home Front Command and said that "in the event of war, the Home Front is expected to face challenges that will require its 75 years of knowledge."

During the visit, the minister held a situation assessment with the sector's senior commanders. "I visited the Northern Command today, and after seeing the forces I want to say to the public in Israel: We have excellent soldiers. Suppose Hezbollah makes a mistake and starts a war against Israel. In that case, we will severely cripple it and return Lebanon to the Stone Age," said Minister Gallant and sending a threatening message to the Lebanese terrorist organization.

The minister also referred to the recent reports that Iran has developed an advanced hypersonic missile: "I hear our enemies bragging about the development of various weapons, for anything like that, we have a better answer; in the air, at sea, and on land, in the defense and attack efforts. We will know how to protect the citizens of Israel, And how to strike our enemies with an eternal blow if, God forbid, they start a war against us."

Meanwhile, as Iran continues to heavily arm itself with destructive weapons and attempts to develop a nuclear weapon, the Islamic country was chosen to serve a one-year term as the vice-president of the United Nations General Assembly, beginning on September 5; the assembly has five, mostly ceremonial vice-presidents in total. In addition, the General Assembly proving the pointlessness of their existence also appointed the Iranian representative as the rapporteur of the Committee on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation and as a member of the committee's board of directors.

"Given Iran's ongoing violations of Security Council Resolution 2231, including in connection with its ballistic missile program, its ongoing efforts to undermine international security, and its failure to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the representative of the Iranian government is not qualified to hold a leadership position on the committee It is, even if such a role is largely ceremonial," said US Ambassador Robert Wood.
