In an unprecedented and urgent appeal, prominent Alawite leaders in Syria have turned to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pleading for immediate intervention to save them from what they describe as an unfolding genocide at the hands of the new Syrian regime. The letter according to a report by i24NEWS, was also addressed to other senior Israeli officials, including Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, and was delivered through trusted intermediaries who maintain covert lines of communication between Syria and Israel.

A Cry for Help Amidst Massacres

The plea comes in the wake of a series of brutal massacres reportedly committed by forces loyal to Syria’s newly installed leader, President Ahmad al-Sharaa (also known as Abu Mohammed al-Julani). Over the past weekend, Alawite villages have been systematically attacked, leaving countless men, women, and children slaughtered. Eyewitness accounts speak of unimaginable horrors—entire families executed in cold blood, homes set ablaze, and communities torn apart.

Amidst the deafening silence of the international community, Israel stands out as the only voice daring to condemn the atrocities. Last Sunday, Israel made it clear that it would not stand idly by while the new Syrian regime persecutes the country’s Druze population. Now, Alawite leaders are asking: will Israel extend its protection to them as well?

"Israel, You Are Our Only Hope"

For decades, the Alawite community remained steadfastly loyal to former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, under whose rule they enjoyed relative protection. However, following Assad’s fall at the hands of the Syrian rebels, the tables have turned, and the Alawites have become targets of revenge, vilification, and mass slaughter.

"Following the fall of Assad’s regime and the bloodbaths inflicted upon our people, we turn to the Israeli government with an urgent request: Provide us with protection, assistance, and support before it is too late!" the letter pleads.

"The world has turned its back on us. The so-called champions of human rights remain silent in the face of our suffering. But the State of Israel, alone, has the courage to act. We are a minority, like you, struggling to survive in an increasingly hostile Middle East. If you help us, we will be your most devoted allies."

In a striking statement that underscores their desperation, the Alawite leaders made a historic promise: "If the Israeli Defense Forces reach the Syrian coast—where the Alawite heartland lies—you will not be met with hostility. Instead, you will be welcomed with songs and flowers, as our liberators!"

A Bold Set of Demands

The letter outlines specific requests for immediate Israeli intervention, demanding decisive action on multiple fronts:

  • Military Protection: The immediate deployment of IDF forces, including the Israeli Air Force, to shield the Alawite community from further massacres.
  • Naval Presence: The dispatch of Israeli warships to the Mediterranean coast of Syria to deter further aggression against Alawite civilians.
  • International Advocacy: A robust diplomatic offensive led by the Israeli Foreign Ministry to expose and condemn the crimes of the new Syrian regime.
  • Media Attention: A coordinated effort by Israeli and international media to "shed light" on the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe, ensuring the world can no longer ignore the suffering of Syria’s persecuted minorities.

"Stand With Us Against Turkish-Backed Extremism"

In an additional appeal, the Alawite leaders called on Israel to stand together with them against what they termed "Islamic arrogance led by Turkey."

"The shadow of Turkish-backed extremism looms over our homeland. Turkey seeks to dominate and reshape Syria to fit its radical agenda. We impl
