Israel is cracking down on UNRWA-run schools accused of indoctrinating Palestinian children with anti-Israel and pro-terrorist ideologies, closing six such institutions in eastern Jerusalem. The move comes as a shocking new survey reveals that nearly half of Gazans support the October 7 Hamas-led massacre, and majorities across Palestinian territories oppose disarming the terror group. Despite mounting international pressure and hostility from Iran-backed Houthis, Israel remains resolute in exposing UNRWA's radical agenda and confronting Hamas’s popular support base.

Israel Closes UNRWA Schools Over Curriculum That Glorifies Terrorism

In a dramatic move signaling zero tolerance for the indoctrination of children with anti-Israel hate, Israel has locked the gates of six UNRWA-run schools in eastern Jerusalem, delivering on its commitment to sever ties with the scandal-ridden United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

On Thursday morning, students and teachers arrived at Shufat Basic Girls School and other institutions to find the buildings shuttered without warning. Tearful goodbyes unfolded in schoolyards that may remain silent for months.

“When I hugged the teachers goodbye, I started crying because I didn't know which school I'd go to, where I would continue learning,” said Layan Ramadan Nataheh, a student caught in the unfolding controversy.

The closures reflect Israel’s growing frustration with UNRWA, which runs most educational services for Palestinian children but has long been accused of perpetuating anti-Israel narratives and glorifying terrorism in its curricula.

UNRWA Curriculum Accused of Teaching Hatred and Promoting Terror

David Bedein, director of the Center for Near East Policy Research, has spent decades investigating UNRWA’s educational programs. In a previous interview, Bedein revealed a disturbing page from a UNRWA-issued textbook that praised female terrorist Dalal Mughrabi, responsible for the brutal murder of 36 Israelis in 1978.

“This is Dalal Mughrabi, who murdered 36 Jews in a terror attack, and she’s glorified in this book,” Bedein said, holding up the material. “There’s an entire curriculum about her, run by UNRWA.”

Bedein summarized the curriculum’s core messages as follows:

  1. Delegitimization of Israel’s existence and of the Jewish people's historical connection to the land.
  2. Demonization of Jews and Israelis as villains or oppressors.
  3. Complete absence of any message promoting peace or coexistence.

This radical educational content, funded by international donors, has raised alarm across Israeli political circles and is now prompting decisive action.

Poll: Massive Palestinian Support for Hamas and October 7 Massacre

As Israel grapples with global pressure over its military operations and regional threats from Iran’s Houthi proxies, a new Palestinian survey has laid bare the disturbing level of popular support for Hamas terrorism.

In Gaza, 50% of respondents said they believe Hamas was right to launch the brutal October 7 massacre that killed over 1,200 Israelis and led to the kidnapping of more than 250 civilians.

Even more alarming, 64% of Gazans and 85% of Palestinians in Judea and Samaria oppose disarming Hamas—a terror group internationally designated for its violent campaigns against Israel.

If Palestinian elections were held today, 43% would vote for Hamas, compared to just 28% for the Palestinian Authority that, despite being Western-backed are still managing programs that reward terror attacks on Jews such as the 'Pay-for-Slay' program. The figures illustrate a clear tilt toward radicalism among Palestinian society, despite the catastrophic consequences of Hamas’s actions for civilians on both sides.

Israel Isolated but Undeterred

While Israel faces mounting isolation over its war against Hamas and renewed aggression from Houthi rebels in Yemen, it remains determined to root out terrorism not only on the battlefield but also in the classroom.

The shuttering of UNRWA schools marks a turning point in how Israel confronts the ideological war being waged against it. It is a signal that indoctrinating future generations with hatred and violence will no longer be tolerated.

As the international community continues to fund UNRWA with little oversight, Israel is increasingly forced to act alone—not just in its defense against missiles and drones, but in its battle against the narrative warfare poisoning the minds of Palestinian youth.
