The emergency conference for the security of governance and settlement in Israel was held yesterday with the participation of past and present security officials, and others from government and academic circles.

The Israeli Supreme Court discussed this past Wednesday the appeal filed by Muhammad Bakri, the creator of the controversial film "Jenin Jenin", following a defamation suit filed against him in a local district court. The court determined to uphold the lower court rulings but did not change the status of the film's distribution via the online 'YouTube' service owned by Google.

An 18-year struggle against the expansion of the Gush Etzion Israeli settlement of Efrat towards the Palestinian village of Al-Eitam came to an end yesterday with the typically moderate Israeli Supreme Court's rejection of a petition from Palestinian residents of the area and the "Peace Now" movement.

In another example of the depravity of Palestinian militants, 18-year-old Tiran Pero, an Israeli-Arab citizen who lives in the Druze town of Daliyat Al Carmel, was killed yesterday after militants took him off life-support in a hospital in the Palestinian Authority-controlled city of Jenin; his body was then kidnapped by the terrorists who belong to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. Pero had been in a car accident after shopping in Jenin and was taken to the hospital in critical condition and placed on life support.

An Israeli-Canadian teenager was murdered Wednesday morning after a backpack exploded in the first of the two Palestinian terrorist bombings. Near a bus station by the central entrance to Jerusalem, Israel, around 7:00 AM, a remote explosive device was set off, injuring dozens and killing one teenager. About half an hour later, at 07:35, an explosive device exploded at a bus station by the Ramot intersection also in Jerusalem.
