On the night between Wednesday and Thursday, an elite Israeli unit entered a village near Jenin and exited in less than an hour, while arresting a number of terrorists and killing two leaders within the Jenin Battalion when militants began a firefight with the soldiers.  A little before 2:00 in the morning, an undercover unit of the “Duvdevan” brigade entered the village along with a force of the “Haruv” patrol belonging to the Kfir brigade.

Two jeeps belonging to the Israel Defense Forces were ambushed by local Arabs armed with homemade explosives and rocks just north of Hebron in Judea after they became stuck on a tight road near the Arab village of Beit Omar. The vehicles and soldiers within were eventually rescued by other troops nearby, leading to 10 injured Palestinians and one dead.

Israelis remain shocked in the aftermath of the bombs set off in Jerusalem this week by Palestinian terrorists. 16-year-old Aryeh Shechopak and 50-year-old Tedsa Tshuma Ben Mada were murdered and 18 other injured, some still in serious to critical condition. Ami Elon, the former head of the Shin Bet, spoke Friday morning with Israel radio host, Nissim Mashaal, about his personal assessments of what to expect in the coming weeks.

Five IDF soldiers were suspended after physically attacking left-wing activists in Hebron, in addition, the Chief of Staff, Aviv Kochavi, released a statement on the matter. Nevertheless, a full-scale police investigation was launched against the protesters who are suspected of inciting the soldiers and undermining the military’s guidelines for protesters.
