The Ultra-orthodox Jewish communities have largely been against Zionism and the formation of a Jewish state in the land of Israel, on the basis that only direct heavenly intervention and the coming of Messiah would have the authority to declare the renewal of Jewish sovereignty. However, in recent years many younger ultra-orthodox organizations and leaders have been advocating for the State of Israel, using Torah commandments and Talmudic verdicts to strengthen their claims; much like religious Zionists have done over the last 150 years.

Udai Al-Azzi, the head figure of the “Lion’s Den” terrorist group based in Nablus, turned himself in Friday morning to the Palestinian Authority after immense pressure from the Israel Defense Forces and Israel's federal security service, Shin Bet. Yesterday, it was reported that Israel is considering a move to return to the policy of targeted assassinations, and Palestinian militant groups were working to protect their leaders.

The organizers of a right-wing demonstration expected to take place Thursday evening in Jerusalem are continuing their great effort to reach as many groups in the population as possible who will take part and come to the capital to show their support for the judicial reform legislation. Among the speakers expected at the demonstration is Minister of Justice Yariv Levin, Chairman of the Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Committee MK Simcha Rothman, Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich and Member of Knesset Avihai Bowron.

A 28-year-old man was moderately injured Tuesday morning after being shot by a Palestinian terrorist near the British Police intersection located in the Benjamin Regional Council in Samaria. According to the reports, a shot was fired from a passing Palestinian-licensed vehicle, while two runners accompanied by vehicles were passing by, running in memory of the fallen Israel Defense Forces soldiers on Israel’s solemn Memorial Day.

According to a census report released in Israel ahead of Independence Day, Jews make up 73.5% of the country's population, while Arabs make up 21%. Compared to the data published on Independence Day last year, this is a decrease among both populations, with the Jews numbering 73.9% of the total population in 2022.
