The seeds for a new wave of what Israelis called the “Knife Intifada” seems to be in place. Early Sunday morning, Israel Defense Forces soldiers shot dead a Palestinian militant who ran towards them with a knife near the Arab village of Silwad within the area of Israel’s Benjamin Regional Council and tried to steal the soldier's weapons. There were no casualties among the soldiers.

The fifth lawmaker on the Arab-Israeli political party 'Ra'am' party list, Knesset Member Yasser Hujirat, spoke about the possibility of recruiting young Arabs into the Israel Defense Forces. His suggestion was met with a full frontal assault from a minor Arab party that failed to get enough votes to enter the Knesset during the last round of voting.

Israel’s Security Cabinet did something astonishing, and many in Israel think it is a welcome sign from. government many were nervous about. The Cabinet approved several measures to be implemented against the Palestinian Authority, following its appeal to the International Court of Justice in the Hague seeking examination of the "legality of the Israeli occupation."

Senior Israeli officials made it clear that from now on there will be a strong response to any act of "diplomatic terrorism" on the part of the Palestinian Authority,  such as “Palestinian appeals to international organizations, like the one to ‘The Hague.’” Up until now, the Israeli government refrained from such actions out of fear of International Condemnation. However, this new government seems determined to confront Palestinian propaganda efforts meant to twist the narrative.

The Israel Defense Forces will officially begin trials and basic training of females for commando units. About 130 female military personnel will be assigned to the “Yahalom” commando unit for recruitment during 2023. The first recruitment cycle will take place this coming April and will be the initial trial of the program. Another round of recruitment will take place in November.

Israel’s National Road Safety Authority held a meeting Tuesday with senior officials of the Authority, with the goal of formulating an emergency plan to be approved by the government, to solve the transportation failures in Judea and Samaria that endanger human life.
