In the midst of the storm surrounding the Kohelet Policy Reform, which is behind the legal reform promoted by Benjamin Netanyahu's new government, reports now show that President Isaac Herzog met with senior officials of the forum, in preparation for the passage of the judicial reforms in the Knesset.

Following the High Court’s ruling last week that disqualified Aryeh Deri from ministerial roles due to his recent conviction for tax fraud, at the weekly cabinet meeting today (Sunday), Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu fired Aryeh Deri from his position as Minister of Health and Interior.

The protests against the right-wing government of Benjamin Netanyahu are growing, and this time it is including people who make up the financial backbone of the economically booming Jewish State. Typically, protests are associated with the left, however this time it seems that even those on the right are unhappy with the power grab that appears to be driving Netanyahu's coalition. Last week representatives of Israel's tech and finance sectors warned that changes to the judicial structure would damage international investment and interest in the country.

Israel’s new coalition might be on its way to breaking up. Social Services Minister, Yaakov Margi of the “Shas” party, said this morning that if the chairman of his party Aryeh Deri cannot remain a minister following the expected Supreme Court ruling regarding his criminal case, they will dissolve the government.

The opponents of the legal reforms of Justice Minister Yariv Levin and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu have had their eyes on President Yitzhak Herzog in recent days. The many demonstrators last Saturday night even shouted insults against the president, and expect him to take action using the fact that he was a political opponent of Netanyahu in the past as their rationale.
