Defense Minister Benny Gantz picked Major General Herzi Halevi for the position of the 23rd Chief of Staff of the IDF. Gantz has made a decision after narrowing down the list just to two candidates. The appointment is pending the approval of the Civil Service Committee and the cabinet within the broader government.
