According to numerous reports within Israel, discrete talks have been going on for several days between Benjamin Netanyahu's associates and those of Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz. On the agenda of these conversations is the possibility of establishing a unity government, in which Yesh Atid and Gantz’s party will be partners along with the Likud.

The chairman of “Otzma Yehudit” Itamar Ben Gvir was booed on Thursday by those present at the memorial service for the slain controversial Rabbi who was banned from the Knesset due to his extremist views, Meir Kahane after Ben Gvir said in his speech that he did not agree with some of Kahane's teachings.

President Isaac Herzog reportedly is working behind the scenes in an attempt to expand the government being formed under the leadership of Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu. In recent days he has spoken with Prime Minister-elect Netanyahu, Yesh Atid Chairman, and outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid as well as Defense Minister Benny Gantz. The president's ambition is for Netanyahu to give up the "extremist" elements in his government, a clear way of alluding to Ben Gvir and his party.

During an interview for the 103FM Israeli radio station, Knesset Member (MK) Gidon Sa’ar spoke about what he thinks will happen if Netanyahu cannot form a coalition, along with his relations with other parties.
