TytoCare's service and platform has been approved by the FDA

The established Israeli tech company “TytoCare” has received full approval from the United States' Food & Drug Administration for its devices that help doctors accurately diagnose patients with different medical issues all while not even being in the same room as the patient. TytoCare's devices and service connect patients with professionals so they can monitor, diagnose and treat patients virtually. The devices can accurately treat and examine the heart, lungs, skin, throat, and ears, as well as read material from anywhere and at any time, and provide healthcare services with the ease patients need.

The new algorithm that has been developed automatically analyzes the lung sounds recorded by the hand-held stethoscope to determine if the patient is in need of dire medical assistance. “Our Tyto Insight capabilities, including our wheeze detection algorithm, furthers our goal of enhancing the virtual care experience for all patients, clinicians, providers, and health plans; not just by increasing the quality of care and expanding our chronic care management capabilities, but also by further assisting clinicians and specialists to make informed and accurate diagnoses remotely,” said Dedi Gilad, CEO and Co-Founder of TytoCare.

“At TytoCare, we have the world’s largest database of lung and heart sounds, as well as related symptoms and vital signs, and we will continue to leverage it to provide superb quality of care for families worldwide,” Gilad added.

TytoCare developed its solution to alleviate the ongoing shortage of healthcare professionals, as well as the challenges of traditional telemedicine services, which include technical issues, inaccurate physical exams, and general patient dissatisfaction. Founded in 2012, TytoCare already has FDA and European CE approvals and partnerships with over 220 major health systems, health plans, and partners in the US, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Israel.

Most recently, the Israel Defense Forces purchased the devices offered by TytoCare, to help advance the capabilities of combat medicine. "The devices solve two problems for us," says Col. Dr. Erez Karp, commander of the Medical Services Center.

"Let's start with the fact that most soldiers do not have a private room in the army, certainly not in the combat units, and the capsule allows an examination room where they can talk privately with the different doctors. The second thing is the technology, which enables a video call and the transfer of data continuously and in high quality, even from remote areas where combat soldiers tend to operate".
