An Arab-Israeli resident of Lod, who worked on the renovation of a Jewish family's home in nearby Ramla, was arrested today on suspicion of setting fire to the laundromat owned by the family. According to the investigation material, the arson occurred after the suspect asked the owner of the laundromat to increase payment for a renovation project done in his house, and was declined.

Young people affiliated with Palestinian Militant groups in the Shuafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem blocked roads between Saturday and Sunday and burned tires so that residents of the area could not leave for work outside the area. The events follow yesterday's announcement of a comprehensive strike and civil unrest due to an increased presence of Israeli Police since the attack at the Shuafat checkpoint in which Sergeant Asil Su'ad was killed. Most residents did not plan on joining the militants' call for a strike, which prompted a few to prevent residents from leaving the area.

Just ahead of the upcoming weekend, the new “Pethat Kidron” Park, the first park in East Jerusalem which is 25 dunams and larger than the main Jerusalem park, Sacher park, will open in Wadi Joz. The park includes a variety of attractions, playgrounds for children, a huge and shady green area, sports fields, and picnic areas.

A woman undressed Sunday morning in the Western Wall plaza, in protest of the Shas party “sleeve law”, which the party members were prevented by Prime Minister Netanyahu from approving. The law would set a six-month prison term for those who harm the Jewish-Orthodox consensus on respectful behavior in holy sites.

In an effort to combat the systemic destruction of ancient artifacts in Judea and Samaria by the Palestinian Authority, the Israeli government approved funding for offices that are responsible for the Judea and Samaria ancient heritage sites after they were split from the Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage. The office for Judean and Samaria archaeology will carry out all the projects of national heritage, with a large government investment amounting to hundreds of millions of shekels in order to preserve the historic Jewish sites throughout the region.
