Prime Minister Yair Lapid has been fooling us all. Walking up to an international stage with some of the most prominent global political figures watching, claiming your government’s aim is to help create a Palestinian state and accomplish the two-state solution’s goal. That alone is perhaps the bravest thing any Israeli PM has done, especially while knowing not-so-deep down that such a solution is simply not possible and will most likely never be a reality.

The United Nations (UN) was founded with the belief that a single organization with various branches can help maintain world order, it did not work in the earlier League of Nations, but sure, why not try? During the years since its establishment, many from all over have accused the UN of being corrupt and not actually efficient in doing their job. These accusations vary in their credibility and obviously all contain different levels of bias, however, no other UN-funded foundation shows as much clear corruption as the organization established to manage Palestinian refugees only.

A common argument for the Palestinian cause is that many of the refugees from Israel's War of Independence (more like a war for survival) and subsequent 6-Day War have nowhere else to go and therefore, until this day, remain 'refugees' who are in a stage of limbo awaiting the return to Palestine. Besides that simply being untrue with 22 Muslim countries theoretically capable of accepting a relatively small amount of people, another question must be answered for that argument. Where would the Jews go if Israel magically became a fabled country called Palestine?

One of the largest claims that the Jewish people have to the land of Israel is the ancestral line of most Jews that leads back to the very same place, Israel. On a personal note, I would argue that the creation of a Jewish state, military and thriving economy despite the adversity and enemies Jews have faced, should be the only factor Zionists need for claiming Israel.

Why is it that American media outlets are looking to Israel as the bad guy in a dispute with Lebanon? Why is it that President Biden has seemingly taken an interest in what happens in the Eastern Mediterranean? Both of these recent developments have the same answer in common, and it would be wise for all involved to focus on their own issues, and leave the challenges Israel and its neighbors are facing to Israel and its neighbors.
