The Palestinian cause is riddled with inconsistencies, this is most evident when it comes to their denials of what most would consider historical facts or established definitions of numerous terms.

The most obvious of them all would be the definition of a refugee camp, and the United Nations has been complicit in amplifying this point. According to the UN High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR), the primary body dealing with displaced people, refugee camps are “temporary facilities built to provide immediate protection and assistance to people who have been forced to flee their homes due to war, persecution or violence.” The painting that is drawn from this very broad term is that refugee camps must be full of temporary housing such as tents or even tin homes and medical posts must be all over due to the “refugees” being in dire need of all kinds of assistance.

In recent years the Israeli government has been investing heavily in the newly found natural gas in the Eastern Mediterranean. Gas fields throughout Israel’s maritime borders were developed and the precious resource is already being pumped into many of the refinery plants that the Jewish State has created. Israeli authorities have shown the will to help some of their friendlier neighbors, Egypt for example, is producing natural gas with Israel's help and is a part of a major trading deal with the European Union in which Israel extracts the gas and Egypt converts it into liquid form (LNG).

After Egypt helped broker a ceasefire between the Iranian-funded and controlled ‘Islamic Jihad’ in Gaza and the Israeli Defense Forces, Egypt’s Ambassador to the United Nations proceeded to lay a scathing rebuke of the Jewish State. It is not surprising in the Arab world, specifically in Egypt and Jordan, where the ‘democratic’ leaders are brutal autocrats who fear a daily rebellion from their largely misguided, uneducated populace.

Israel is in trouble. No, it is not the threat from Gaza or even the greater one from Lebanon. The Jewish State has been hedging their bets with ‘allies’ for so long, it no longer sees world events with objective eyes. While the term ‘strongest ally’ has always been associated in America with Israel and vice versa, Israel is in bed with many controversial countries – some that have worked hard to subvert its so-called ‘strongest ally’ and one that is now on the verge of dragging the world into a dangerous place.

Last week, Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was shot and killed while she was reporting on an Israeli military operation in the West Bank. Israel was immediately blamed for the killing, despite a lack of cooperation from the Palestinian Authority, which refused to share the forensics on the bullet with Israeli investigators. A few days later, Israeli police were filmed attacking mourners at her funeral, although what led up to the violence is also up to debate. Now, several members of the U.S. Congress are circulating a letter to their colleagues for signature demanding an FBI investigation into her killing.

The episode is undoubtedly going to provide momentum for advocates of boycotting, divesting from, and sanctioning Israel, a movement known as BDS.
