The Hebrew University condemned the words written by Amiram Goldblum, A Professor and Chemist emeritus at the institution, against MK Zvi Succot from the religious Zionist movement. Goldblum said that Succot is "one of the enemies of the state that needs to be exterminated and I stand with the Palestinians against this villain." The University clarified to reporters from โ€œMakor Rishonโ€ that "the words were said from the point of view of a private person", adding that "they do not reflect our opinion. The Hebrew University disapproves and opposes such statements."

In a post that he uploaded to his Facebook account last Tuesday, Goldblum, professor emeritus in the Department of Natural Materials at the Faculty of Medicine of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and one of the founders of the left-leaning โ€œPeace Nowโ€ movement, attacked Succot by saying he was "one of the enemies of the state that needs to be exterminated. Not a brother, not a relative, a Kahanist scoundrel and a supporter of the party for the genocide of the Palestinians, Religious Zionism."

Goldblum added: "He is also proof that there is no difference between the criminals and terrorists of Otzma Yehudit and Religious Zionism, two sickening parties. The main achievement of this pit, the wild breeding of the radical hill settling boys, is acts of violence and abomination. I am with the Palestinians against this villain and hope that a way will be found to exterminate him and his ilk," concluded Professor Goldblum.

The member of Knesset Succot said in response: "It is permissible to criticize, it is forbidden in any way to incite. The incitement that we have been aware of on the networks lately crosses all lines. It starts with the call of the protest leaders to go out for civil unrest, and continues with the call to harm Knesset members." Succot added: "Of course, there is no connection between what Goldblum wrote and the reality. I call on the entire political spectrum, to stop the incitement now. It is allowed to argue, you have to talk and consider and you must not incite."

77-year-old Goldblum was a key activist in the โ€œPeace Nowโ€ movement and served as its spokesperson for 20 years, he is a member of the New Israel Fund Council, and in the past, he was placed on the Knesset's Meretz, although in an unrealistic number on the list.

This is not the first time that the professor has caused a stir, and the university repeatedly has condemned his words over the years. In the past, after the murder of the Hankin couple by Palestinian terrorists, the Professor said that it is forbidden to raise children in Judea and Samaria, and called the settlers โ€œterrorist soldiersโ€. In another post, he called the settlers terrorists by definition.
