In a shocking revelation, five female soldiers, serving as guards in an Israeli prison, have come under scrutiny for allegedly having intimate relationships with an incarcerated terrorist associated with Fatah. The imprisoned individual is currently serving a life sentence for their involvement in a devastating attack that claimed the lives of Israeli citizens in the heart of the country. While one of the soldiers' lawyers claims the relationship was non-consensual, a senior police officer asserts that there is substantial evidence contradicting this assertion.

The scandalous affair came to light following information received by the security branch of the Shin Bet, indicating that a soldier in mandatory service, employed as a prison guard, had engaged in an intimate relationship with a security prisoner over the past year. An internal investigation conducted by the Shin Bet revealed suspicions that the security prisoner had managed to keep a mobile phone in his cell, enabling him to correspond with the prison guards and even exchange photos with them.

The investigation further unveiled at least one case of physical and apparently consensual intimate contact between one of the female guards and the prisoner. Subsequently, the Shin Bet shared its findings with the national unit responsible for investigating prison guards, leading to the detention of one of the prison guards for questioning. Following the interrogation, she was released to house arrest and is facing allegations of fraud and breach of trust. During her questioning, she disclosed information about four other female soldiers who she claims had engaged in intimate relationships with the same prisoner.

Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, has reacted strongly to the revelations, emphasizing the necessity and urgency of removing female soldiers from security prisoner divisions. He stated, "The shocking allegations that female soldiers may have had intimate relations with security prisoners further underscore the need to relocate our female soldiers away from these divisions. Since assuming office approximately nine months ago, I have been advocating for this change. Substantial progress has already been made, and the presence of female soldiers in these wings has been significantly reduced. According to the plan aligned with my policy, by mid-2025, no female soldiers will remain in security prisoner wings."

Attorney Yair Ohion, representing the interrogated guard, has vehemently defended his client, asserting that she is, in fact, a victim in this situation. He argues, "The very fact that my client was interrogated is an absurdity and a grave distortion of the truth, given that she was a victim of the security prisoner's coercion. This 'relationship' was thrust upon her through threats, leaving her with no choice but to comply. At one point, when my client implored the prisoner to cease his actions and release her, he responded with threats to harm her and her family, as well as to ruin her life. Clearly, she is the victim here, and with the matter now in the public eye, she has suffered a double injustice. I am confident that the truth will emerge soon, completely exonerating her."
