Palestinian President & Fatah Chairman, Mahmoud Abbas

In the latest development from Judea and Samaria, the Fatah movement, a terror group that is the political leader of the Palestinian Authority has declared a general strike and urged an escalation in terror attacks against Israel. This announcement, reported by Kan News, comes in the wake of recent Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) actions in Tulkarm and Gaza.

The strike was prompted by IDF operations, including a significant raid in the Tulkarm region, specifically targeting the Noor-al-Shams neighborhood. This 40-hour military engagement resulted in the deaths of ten terrorists and the detention of eight individuals. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that these operations extended to the Nur Shams refugee camp, where at least 14 Palestinian militants were killed.

Hamas, via its official Telegram channel, has echoed Fatah's call for heightened confrontations. "We mobilize our Palestinian people stationed to ignite confrontations with the criminal Zionist occupation in all areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem in response to the criminal massacre in the Noor-al-Shams camp in Tulkarm," stated Hamas.

The ripple effects of these military actions and subsequent calls for strikes have significantly disrupted daily life across the occupied territories. Political entities, labor unions, and civil society organizations have all voiced support for the strike, underscoring a collective response to what they view as aggressive incursions by the Israeli army.

On the ground, the situation in the Nur Shams camp was described by Faisal Salama, head of the services committee, as severely impacted, with substantial infrastructure damage. While Israel has been blamed for this devastation, footage circulated on social media platforms like Telegram illustrates that the militants also contributed to the destruction during attempts to counter the IDF operations.

Concurrently, the Israeli military has intensified its operations in the Gaza Strip and other parts of the Judea and Samaria, including Jerusalem, targeting individuals linked to terror organizations such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Despite international efforts to mediate peace, including a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire and the release of all hostages, the conflict between Israel and Hamas shows no signs of abating.
