Massive Interception Efforts Seen as Hezbollah Launches Dozens of Rockets into Israel; IDF Strikes Back with Unrelenting Force.

A wave of terror swept across northern Israel on Tuesday as Hezbollah unleashed a relentless barrage of rockets, igniting sirens and panic in cities like Haifa, Acre, and surrounding regions. In a stunning display of Israelā€™s advanced defense capabilities, dozens of rocket interceptions lit up the skies as the Iron Dome system worked overtime to neutralize the incoming threats. But the drama was far from over.

85 Rockets in First Wave ā€“ Tensions Escalate After Hezbollah Leaderā€™s Fiery Speech

The first wave of rockets, approximately 85 in total, followed an incendiary speech by Hezbollahā€™s Deputy Secretary-General, Naim Qassem. The speech, a defiant response to the assassination of Hezbollahā€™s leader Hassan Nasrallah by Israeli forces in Beirut, was nothing short of a call to arms. "Israel thinks it can intimidate us, but we stand stronger than ever," Qassem boomed to his followers. "Nasrallahā€™s legacy of resistance will continue to haunt the Zionist enemy. The Palestinian people will not be defeated."

Just 30 minutes after Qassemā€™s speech, a second barrage rocked northern Israel, sending residents scrambling for cover yet again. This was no random attackā€”it was a calculated response to Israelā€™s growing military operations in the region, which had ramped up overnight.

Ground Zero: Haifa and Acre Under Fire

Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services confirmed that no casualties had been reported so far, but the sheer scale of the attack was terrifying. Haifa and Acre, key coastal cities, were at the heart of Hezbollahā€™s assault. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) quickly announced that operations had begun in the sector from which the rockets were launched, leaving no doubt that retribution would be swift.

IDF Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Beirut

As Hezbollahā€™s rockets fell, Israel struck back hard. The IDF confirmed airstrikes against critical Hezbollah terror infrastructure in the Dahieh district of Beirut, a known stronghold of the group. Israeli officials were clear: there would be no hesitation in targeting those responsible for the onslaught. "Approximately 85 rockets were launched from Lebanon, and interception attempts are ongoing. The situation is being investigated further," the IDF said in a statement.

More Attacks in Tiberias and Surrounding Areas

The violence wasnā€™t confined to Haifa and Acre. Earlier in the day, rocket sirens blared in Tiberias and nearby communities, including Mitzpeh, Kfar Hittim, and Lavi. The Tiberias municipality confirmed that at least three rockets exploded in open fields, fortunately resulting in no injuries. Still, the psychological impact was palpable, with residents sheltering and fearing what would come next.

Airstrikes Ripple Through Lebanon ā€“ Multiple Casualties Reported

Lebanese media reported that Israelā€™s retaliatory airstrikes had devastating consequences in multiple areas, including Suhmur in the western Bekaa Valley, where three people were killed. Other strikes targeted Hezbollah positions near the Israeli border, hitting locations like Sarfa, Arzoun, and Alma al-Shaab.

Fires Break Out as Rockets Land Near Kibbutz Kfar Masarik

As the rockets continued to rain down, secondary effects became evident. A fire erupted in an open area near Kibbutz Kfar Masarik, sparked by rocket debris that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Firefighters, led by shift commander Guy Katzir, rushed to the scene to contain the blaze. "Weā€™re working to prevent the fire from spreading further," said Hezi Mozafi, a firefighting unit leader from the Zevulun council.

On the Ground: MDA Responds to Wounded and Traumatized Civilians

Chai Takatash, a medic with Magen David Adom, described a harrowing scene when his team responded to one of the impacted areas. "We treated a 71-year-old woman who was conscious but suffered a shrapnel wound to her hand. We stabilized her and evacuated her to the hospital. There were also several cases of anxiety weā€™re tending to," he explained.

Hezbollahā€™s Calculated Gamble ā€“ A Ceasefire in the Cards?

Despite the intense violence, Hezbollah hinted at a possible ceasefire in the near future. Naim Qassem made it clear that Hezbollah would consider halting attacks if Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berriā€™s efforts to broker a 21-day truce bore fruit. "Until then, there will be no discussion," Qassem said, emphasizing that the group remained firm in its resistance unless a political solution was found.

IDF on High Alert: A Long Day Ahead?

With rocket sirens continuing to blare across northern Israel and the IDF conducting major strikes in Lebanon, the situation remains volatile. Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors and warned against approaching any debris from the rocket strikes.

As Israel faces one of its most intense escalations on its northern front, the country remains steadfast. The military is prepared, the defenses are active, and while Hezbollah seeks to challenge Israelā€™s resilience, the response has been swift, powerful, and far-reaching.
