Terrorist home demolished in Kafr Dan near Jenin

Israel Defense Forces troops entered the village of 'Kafr Dan,' near Jenin overnight between Sunday and Monday, in the area of Israel's Menashe regional council, in order to destroy the houses of the terrorists who killed Major Bar Falah in September of 2022. Near the Jalma crossing.

An Israeli law, which is often protested by far-left Israeli and Palestinian activists, dictates that all who take part in terrorist activities resulting in casualties will have their houses torn down by Israeli operational forces. Due to strict bureaucracy in the process, it often takes months, if not years, to follow through with the law that is meant to deter Palestinian activists from terrorism.

During the operation Sunday night in Dan, an exchange of fire developed between the IDF forces and Palestinian armed militants, who opened fire at the IDF soldiers. Israeli troops later reported they detected injuries on the militant's side of those who fired at them and Molotov cocktails tossers. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade took credit for the attack and announced that two militants, Fouad Abed and Mohammed Hoshiya were 'martyred.'

There were no casualties among the IDF soldiers. Later it was reported that Khoshiya and Abed were killed by gunfire during the gunfight. The PLO and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah's military arm, announced that Abed "died while performing his duty, and he protected the people with his blood." The Palestinian Ministry of Health further reported three fatally wounded who were hit by IDF fire.

Due to the PLO being the ruling party of the entire PA and the main international negotiator for the Palestinian people, some view their constant support for armed resistance and terrorism as unlawful and at the very least a direct violation of the Oslo Accords signed close to 30 years ago.

In the encounter in September that led to the house demolition in Kafr Dan, IDF Maj. Bar Falah managed to shoot at several armed militants trying to cross into Israel before he was hit and collapsed from his fatal wounds. He commanded a squad that attacked the terrorists alongside a parallel squad that attacked led by the commander of the Menashe division, Col. Eric Moyal.

The IDF's investigation into the incident reveals that the two terrorist suspects were identified 15 meters from the seam line two and a half hours before the incident but were not suspected to be armed, and therefore were not shot at until the encounter with the forces that surrounded them, resulting in a close-range gunfight.
