Fathi Khazem's family are accusing Israel of introducing a virus into his body

In recent days, the Palestinians have launched a blood libel campaign against Israel, against the background of the medical condition of Fathi Khazem, the father of the man who committed the terrorist attack in Tel Aviv's Dizengoff neighborhood last summer that resulted in the killing of 3 and injuring 6. Khazem's other son was also killed this fall after opening fire on Israel Defense Forces as they came into Jenin to make an arrest.

Along with the reports of the worsening of Khazem's medical condition, and his transfer to Istishari Hospital in Ramallah, his family accused Israel of "introducing an unknown virus into his body, which caused his condition to deteriorate." Palestinian sources described the medical symptoms that Khazem suffers from as swelling in his body and medical tests that revealed that he is suffering from blood poisoning. The poisoning claim is very similar to the well-known Palestinian claim that PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat was poisoned by Israel leading to his death.

The father of the two dead terrorists, a former officer in the Palestinian security apparatus, was visited by PA officials including the Minister of Health Mai Al Kaila, who announced Tuesday that his condition has improved. "Khazem underwent a catheterization, he is on the mend, his condition is good and his morale is high," said the minister.

Amin Khazem, Fathi's brother, claimed on Facebook that a request to transfer his sick brother to Jordan for treatment was met with a refusal by Israel. "My brother is in serious condition, he is in the hospital in Ramallah and the doctors are unable to treat him. We received assurances about the possibility of transferring him to a hospital in Jordan, the occupation is responsible for this. Pray for his complete recovery."

Khazem became a key figure in what the Palestinians call the "armed resistance" against Israel in Jenin and all over Judea and Samaria. He spoke at various events in Jenin and called for the unity of all Palestinian organizations in the armed struggle against Israel.

About a week ago, at a meeting of the Fatah organization in Ramallah, Khazem was honored for the terrorist acts carried out by his sons, and called once again for unity against Israel, with PA senior officials Jibril Rajoub and Hussein Al-Sheikh by his side. At the end of the event, he was visibly having difficulty walking and was in need of assistance from the security guards present.
