Screen capture of Roger Waters 'The Wall' performance in Berlin

The former lead singer of the band Pink Floyd, British musician Roger Waters is known for his anti-Israeli and antisemitic opinions, but his latest demonstration of those opinions might have crossed a red line. The photos from his recent concert tour that is taking place in Europe these days make it clear how far the famous singer went in his campaign against Israel.

In addition to the anti-Israeli messages projected on giant screens during his performances, antisemitic and vulgar messages were displayed as well. For example, in one of his performances, a huge balloon in the shape of a pig passes over the heads of the audience with a row of symbols on it, and one of the largest and most prominent is the Star of David symbol.

In another part, messages comparing Palestinians to the victims of the Holocaust are projected on the screen. For example, the name Anne Frank is written, an inscription describing the place of her death and the circumstances of her death; "Place of death: Bergen-Belsen, Germany. The cause of death: being Jewish.”

Immediately afterward, and in the same way, the details of the journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, who was killed about a year ago when she was accidentally hit during an exchange of fire between the IDF and militants in Jenin, are shown: "Place of death: Jenin, Palestine. Cause of death: being Palestinian."

Roger Waters is known for his anti-Israel positions and support for the BDS movement. In the previous month, the municipality of Frankfurt prevented him from appearing in the city for his anti-Israel activities, in its decision describing him as "one of the most recognized antisemites in the world today."

Earlier this year, Pink Floyd bandmate David Gilmour attacked him for his views. After Roger expressed support for the Russian president and his invasion of Ukraine, Gilmore's wife tweeted: "Unfortunately, you are antisemitic to the core," adding a bunch of accusations and attacks on Roger and his character. Gilmour responded to his wife's tweet in character testimony about his former bandmate: "Everything said here is true and can be proven."

Usually, Israeli officials try to stay out of attacking Waters, but this time it seems MK Amichai Chikli could not keep quiet. In a tweet earlier this week, Chikli said: Roger Waters is one of the world’s worst Jew-haters and Holocaust deniers. Look at this sickening background from his concert last night in Berlin. Anne Frank and 6 million Jews cannot answer you. But know Roger Waters, you are an absolute disgrace to humanity!”
