The Jordanian Parliament

The Jordanian member of parliament, Khalil Attiyah, asked the Arab parliament in Cairo on Saturday afternoon to read Surat Al-Fatha from the Quran in honor of the Egyptian terrorist Muhammad Salah who killed three Israel Defense Forces soldiers on the Sinai border over a week ago. "We salute Egypt, and its martyr, Muhammad Salah. I will ask the honorable council to stand for the reading of the 'fatah for the souls of the martyrs' of the Arab and Islamic nation, who died a martyr's death for Palestine, and especially in memory of the hero martyr Muhammad Salah," he said.

Following his words, members of the Arab parliament stood and recited the surah in memory of the terrorist. Attiyah is known as a member of parliament who is hostile to Israel and often speak strongly against it. The Arab Parliament acts as a representative body of the Arab League.

The reading of the Surah in the Arab Parliament comes just after Egyptian sources revealed that a delegation arrived in Tel Aviv following the attack in which three IDF Paran Brigade soldiers were killed. According to the report, the delegation was intended to "put out the fires" and deal with the mediation issues between Israel and the terrorist organizations in Gaza. According to the sources, the delegation included the person responsible for the Israeli portfolio in Egyptian intelligence, who also visited the Palestinians and carried a special message on behalf of the head of intelligence, Abbas Kamal.

The report of the visit comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi earlier this week. At the end of the conversation, a statement was issued to the media in which the two leaders emphasized the importance of coordination between the parties, and Sisi sent his condolences to the families of the dead soldiers.

One of the Egyptian sources told "Al-Arabi Al-Jadid" that the delegation conveyed a message to Israel that there is dissatisfaction in Cairo with the media discourse in Tel Aviv, which slandered the Egyptian military establishment following the incident, especially in the shadow of the great cooperation between the parties.

According to the source, one message delivered by Cairo's delegation was the little coverage received by several violations on the Israeli side of the rules used in border security. It was added that the visit was not limited to just discussing the consequences of the attack on the border, and also dealt with issues such as mediation with the Palestinian terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip.
