The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, saying, "This morning, during a tourist visit by a group of Israelis in Alexandria, a local individual opened fire on them, resulting in the tragic deaths of two Israeli citizens and the local Egyptian guide. Furthermore, there is an injured Israeli in moderate condition at the scene."

Subsequently, it was disclosed, "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Israeli Embassy in Cairo, is working closely with the Egyptian authorities, the Prime Minister's Office, and the IDF to expedite the repatriation of the Israeli citizens to Israel."

The IDF spokesperson also provided information that remotely operated aircraft had conducted strikes against several terrorist units around the Gaza Strip. In the northern Gaza Strip, three terrorists were intercepted as they attempted to approach the border fence, while seven terrorists were apprehended in Kibbutz Kfar Gaza. Near the Nahal Oz outpost, a squad of six terrorists was prevented from advancing by a remotely operated aircraft. In Be’eri, two groups of terrorists, one approaching from the north and the other from the south, were intercepted and neutralized in a coordinated attack involving two aircraft. In total, it was noted that hundreds of terrorists had been thwarted since the commencement of hostilities.
