In the interview with Khaled Mashal, the leader of Hamas, conducted by the Saudi Al-Arabiya network, several significant points were raised. Mashal, who served as the head of the terrorist organization's political bureau for about 21 years, was interviewed in an unusual manner. During the interview, the presenter began by scolding him, saying, "You claim that the opposition is legitimate in your eyes, but what the Western world saw on its television screens was the Hamas movement's harm to Israeli citizens."

She continued, "The world compares the movement that you are responsible for, among other things, for its image abroad, to ISIS." In response, Mashal claimed, "Israel will kill us - whether we were against it or not." He further stated that Hamas had enough "captive soldiers" from Israel, which could potentially be used in negotiations for the release of security prisoners held in Israeli prisons.

Mashal admitted that the surprise attack by Hamas on Israel, especially on Israeli towns, was "a calculated move that Hamas is fully aware of its consequences." He acknowledged receiving support in terms of weapons, experience, and technology from Hezbollah and Iran, and he called on Arab countries to provide more support.

Regarding civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip, Mashal stated, "Hamas and its military wing focus their opposition on the occupation forces and soldiers, but in all wars there are some civilian casualties." However, he refused to accept responsibility for the harm to Gazans, such as in the explosion at the hospital in Gaza City earlier that week, stating, "We do not target the civilians on purpose, even though our weapons are not advanced enough, while Israel has American weapons."

Mashal also criticized the United States, particularly after President Joe Biden's historic visit, accusing his administration of a lack of morality and humanity. He remarked, "They don't see the hospitals and mosques that are being damaged and the war crimes of the Zionist army on the land of Gaza."

This interview occurred in the context of Saudi Prince Turki Al-Faisal condemning terrorist attacks by Hamas. He expressed concern over the destruction and suffering caused by the conflict in Gaza. He stated, "Israel has overwhelming military superiority, and we see before our eyes the destruction and genocide it is wreaking on the residents of Gaza." He then strongly condemned Hamas attacks against civilian targets, emphasizing that such actions contradicted Hamas's claim to an Islamic identity and stating, "Islam forbids the killing of women, children, and the elderly."
