The intelligence blog "Intelli Times" and an Iranian opposition website reported this morning on an attack on a base in Tehran, which belongs to Iran's Revolutionary Guards. According to the reports, the base that was attacked is known as the "security headquarters of Greater Tehran." However, the attack has not been officially confirmed by a representative of the Revolutionary Guards.

The Iranian opposition website that published the report is called "Iran Efshagar." It is operated by the Iranian opposition and focuses on exposing individuals associated with intelligence agencies and the clergy.

The Iranian opposition organization MEK has already claimed responsibility for the attack. MEK is a large underground religious and socialist movement that reportedly works closely with Israel against the Iranian regime. According to the report in "Intelli Times," the targeted facility belongs to the security unit of the Revolutionary Guards.

This incident follows an earlier attack by the IDF Air Force on international airports in Damascus and Aleppo, Syria, on Sunday morning. According to the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network, which has close ties to Hezbollah, the airport in Aleppo was hit by four missiles.

At approximately 05:25 this morning, the Air Force conducted a coordinated attack on both airports. As a result, the runways at both ports were damaged and rendered unusable. These are among the most extensive attacks in Syria since the start of the conflict in Gaza. The quantity of bombs and ammunition used in the morning attacks exceeds that which was dropped on 100 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip later that night. The IDF conducted these airport attacks due to genuine concerns about the arrival of forces and advanced weapons from Iran and Iraq into Syria and Lebanon.

These events come just after the Pentagon announced Saturday night that the United States will deploy a short- and medium-range anti-ballistic missile defense system (THAAD) to the Middle East. Additionally, additional Patriot air defense missile systems will be sent.

The Pentagon's decision to deploy these systems is in response to recent attacks on American forces in the Middle East. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated, "Following discussions with President Joe Biden regarding the recent escalations by Iran and its affiliates in the Middle East, it was decided to strengthen the Ministry of Defense's presence in the region." He also mentioned that additional soldiers will be placed on standby for potential deployment to the area, although the exact number was not specified. Currently, the Pentagon has approximately 2,000 soldiers on high alert in case their deployment to the region becomes necessary.
