The renowned transgender Israeli singer, Dana International, who achieved global acclaim after her victory at the Eurovision in 1998, has recently taken to Instagram to make a passionate plea to the worldwide LGBTQ community, urging them to denounce Hamas.

In a heartfelt post, she addressed her LGBTQ siblings and the broader global family. She expressed her deep love and appreciation for the LGBTQ community, acknowledging their tireless fight for equality, freedom, and the universal right to love. With genuine concern and empathy, she implored them to reconsider their stance on an issue she believes is of utmost importance.

The singer began by offering the benefit of the doubt to those who may not be fully informed about the actions and values of Hamas, referring to them as "freedom fighters." She then proceeded to shed light on what she views as a stark reality. She included a video in her post featuring a Palestinian Imam vehemently rejecting any LGBTQ presence on "Palestinian" soil.

She asked a series of piercing questions. "Are you aware that if you accidentally find yourself on the streets of Gaza, your life would be in grave danger? Do you know that Hamas sentences every LGBTQ individual to death by hanging, or even worse? Are you aware that Hamas does not advocate for women's rights or LGBTQ rights, and that they are far from treating these groups as equals?"

The singer's message was clear: โ€œIf you do not condemn Hamas, you are against LGBTQ, against women, and AGAINST PEACE. Free Palestine - from Hamas! Israel is fighting hamas to topple this reign of terror so that it will be better for us, for all the citizens under it, and for the whole world.โ€

Concluding her heartfelt plea, the Israeli icon emphasized the complexity of the situation.โ€œThings are far more complex than reciting some trend that sounds right to you. I ask you to open your eyes and hearts, and to see the truth, to see beyond any propaganda or a one-sided narrative as they show on social media. Choose to see the side who sees you. Who shares the same values as you. P.S: You are always welcome to the Tel Aviv gay pride that will accept you with open arms.โ€

The singer's message comes during a period marked by ongoing pro-Palestinian and Hamas protests worldwide, often organized by liberal and progressive groups. In many of these demonstrations, Pride flags are prominently displayed alongside Palestinian flags. Some protesters even carry banners proclaiming "Queers for Palestine."
