Hamas militant steps on a picture of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir

Two Arab-Israeli citizens named Muhammad Amin Moslah and Muhammad Fayad Mahamid, both residents of the village of Mu'awiya in the Ramot Menashe area of Northern Israel, were arrested a few months ago for investigation by the Shin Bet after being caught planning a terrorist act for Israel’s election day, on behalf of the Hamas organization. An indictment was filed against the two for serious security offenses over the weekend.

The investigation revealed that Muhammad Amin Moslah was recruited by an infrastructure of terrorist operatives operating as part of the military wing of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, in order to carry out a bomb attack inside the territory of the State of Israel.

The investigation revealed that in order to carry out the bomb attack, directed by the Hamas infrastructure from the Gaza Strip, Muhammad Amin Moslah recruited his friend Muhammad Fayad Mahamid. The two severed contact with the terror group in the Gaza Strip due to differences of opinion that arose regarding the appropriate target for the attack. They were asked to plan an attack on election day, but Hamas operatives wanted the attack to be against civilians, while the defendants wanted the attack to be against soldiers.

After severing the connection with the Hamas infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, Moslah and his friend Mahamid acted to promote the kidnapping of soldiers, equipped with homemade assault weapons, while preparing for the possibility that they would use them. In order to realize their intentions, the two began to gather intelligence on bus stops frequented by soldiers, conduct shooting tests with their weapons, and locate a vehicle to steal that would fit the task at hand.

On several occasions, and in order to execute the attack against soldiers, the defendants examined different bus stops on the road between Kfar Kara and Givat Ada and along road 65, when they finally decided to carry out the attack against the soldiers at a bus stop near the training base of the Golani Brigade, which is located near Kfar Kara. The Golani Brigade bus station is usually packed with soldiers, especially on Thursday afternoons.

The investigation of the affair reveals once again the fact that the Hamas organization in the Gaza Strip exploits the Arab citizens of Israel and recruits them for the purpose of promoting terrorist activities in the territories of the State of Israel while harming the fabric of their existence in Israeli society.

The results of the investigation were forwarded to the Haifa District Attorney's Office, and today an indictment was filed accusing the two of terrorism.
