Pro-Palestinian social media post encouraging violence

An indictment was filed Monday afternoon against Raide Golani, a 49-year-old resident of Jerusalem. The indictment attributes to Golani several offenses against the law called “The fight against terrorism” after she published praise and incitement to terrorism on her Facebook and Instagram accounts. The indictment was filed with the consent of the Attorney General, Gali Beharev Miara, as required by law.

According to the indictment, which was filed through attorney Manal Abu Amer, the accused published on several occasions posts in Arabic that showed identification with a terrorist organization and incitement to terrorism. The content that she uploaded to her Facebook and Instagram accounts received wide exposure, published as public postings that can be viewed by Facebook and Instagram users, and provided a platform for others to express support for this content.

For example, the accused published on her Instagram account a segment from the documentation of the attack in the Shuafat refugee camp, in which the soldier Noa Lazar was murdered by Udai Tamimi.

In addition, after Tamimi was killed during the shooting attack he carried out in Ma'ale Adumim, the accused posted on her Facebook account "Jerusalem and its surroundings respond to Udai's call" and this in view of his will that hundreds of young people "raise their weapons and follow him". In addition, Golani published on her Facebook account the picture of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the founder of Hamas, and wrote "This is the only figure on whom there is general agreement to love and appreciate. May your soul have mercy, our honorable Sheikh."

In addition to the indictment against Golani, the prosecutor's office filed indictments for inciting terrorism and encouraging nationalist actions, against three Palestinians who entered Israel in recent days and participated in riots on the Temple Mount. According to the indictment, while without a residence permit in Israel, the three defendants took part in the prayers on the second Friday of the month of Ramadan at the Temple Mount about a week ago.

After the prayer ended and while they were on the Temple Mount, the accused participated in the gathering, while the crowd waved Hamas flags and chanted incitement to violence. During the procession, a number of people in the crowd took pictures of the defendants participating in the procession. The District Court in Jerusalem also kept in custody seven young people, including several minors, who were arrested last Friday on suspicion of waving Hamas flags and chants that suggest support for terrorism.
