After the deadly attack Tuesday morning in the Harmesh settlement of northern Samaria, in which Meir Tamari was murdered, coalition members are calling for a significant response and a large-scale military operation in northern Samaria. “The Land of Israel” lobby will hold a debate in the Knesset on the increase in terrorism in Samaria and ways to deal with it.

Minister for Israeli communities in Judea & Samaria Orit Strook also criticized the government's policy after this attack: "Meir Tamari may God avenge his death. A few yards from the place where he was murdered, there is a checkpoint, which was opened, and despite the wave of terrorism, it has not yet been manned." Strook added that we must not accept the situation: "Judea and Samaria's roads are a green light for terrorism. This is a wake-up call to all my friends in the government, it is our responsibility."

"The number of miracles in the shooting attacks that took place in the last few weeks throughout Samaria ended today with a murderous incident," MK Yuli Edelstein, MK Limor Son Har-Melech, and MK Simcha Rotman said in a joint statement. "We are pained by the criminal and terrible murder at the hands of the wrongdoers and wish to give our hugs to the family and the residents of Samaria. The management and members of the ‘Eretz Yisrael’ lobby call for and work for an uncompromising fight against terrorism to restore peace and security to the citizens of Israel, in all parts of Israel."

"My heart is boiling!!!", MK Zvi Sukkot wrote on his Twitter account after the attack. "Another Jew was murdered just because he is a Jew. I am not interested in chasing this particular terrorist again and using the ‘long hand’ [a political phrase often used to describe the vast reach of the IDF]. There is a wide infrastructure that releases an attack every two days from northern Samaria and on our watch. This has to end. An urgent broad operation in northern Samaria must happen and as soon as possible."

"Day by day, life in Judea and Samaria become more dangerous," wrote MK Avichai Bovaron. "The Arabs feel that Israel is abandoning Judea and Samaria and are acting accordingly. This reality must stop. The region is not an ex-territorial lawlessness zone outside the State of Israel. The IDF should not look for industrial peace but instead, look for the Palestinian enemy. Only in this way will security and peace return to Judea and Samaria and Israel, for the settlement and security," he wrote.
