Kamal Adwan Hospital director Ahmed al-Kahlout during interrogation (@YaariCohen MFA - X)

In a striking revelation, Ahmad Kahlud, the director of the Kamal Adwan hospital in Gaza, disclosed during his interrogation that the facility was effectively a Hamas stronghold. Kahlud, who was recruited into Hamas in 2010 with the rank of Brigadier General, confessed to Shin Bet interrogators about the militant presence within the hospital. He stated, "There was a time that dozens of them hidden in the hospital, sometimes close to a hundred."

Kahlud revealed that terrorists were strategically embedded among the hospital staff, exploiting the hospital's perceived immunity to safeguard themselves. "They hide in hospitals because they believe that a hospital is a safe place. They will not be harmed if they are inside a hospital," Kahlud explained.

Further, Kahlud indicated that approximately 16 hospital employees were members of Hamas's al-Qassam Brigades. This admission came in the wake of a comprehensive operation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya. This operation, which spanned several days, led to the recovery of firearms, anti-tank missiles, explosives, and significant intelligence. Notably, the IDF apprehended about 90 suspects linked to terror activities, some connected to the October 7 massacre.

During this operation, the IDF uncovered weapons hidden in incubators, highlighting the use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes by Palestinian terrorist groups. In a coordinated effort with the Shin Bet security agency, the IDF discovered a vast array of terror infrastructure, including AK-47s, anti-tank missiles, explosive devices, military equipment belonging to Hamas' Nukhba force, and technology and documents related to Hamas intelligence.

Meanwhile, international organizations like the World Health Organization and the United Nations have been criticized for overlooking the evident links between Hamas's terror network and the infrastructure they support. The UN's news site, for instance, made no mention of the terror connections to the hospital, stating, "Kamal Adwan Hospital was raided by the Israeli military over four days last week and the World Health Organization (WHO) said that many health workers were reportedly detained."

The WHO Director-General Tedros expressed deep concern over the impact on Gaza's health system, emphasizing the urgent need for a ceasefire . He highlighted the dangers faced by patients who had to evacuate the hospital and the challenges faced by ambulances in reaching the facility but never mentioned the weapons and fighters that were hidden in the hospital.

Another ignorant agency turning a blind eye to the tons of evidence that these facilities were used by Hamas and Islamic Jihad for terror, the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that Israeli forces had withdrawn from the hospital, and subsequent Hamas affiliated social media reports indicated that an Israeli military bulldozer had impacted tents housing internally displaced persons outside the hospital, resulting in casualties. There was no verification from Israel about this incident and the one video which was circulated provided little context and many questions as the bulldozer did not look like anything like the typical gated ones used by the IDF in Gaza during this conflict and the color was not the same either.

Despite the potential for misinformation stemming from this incident, Tedros and OCHA treated the social media posts as fact and called for an investigation into the incident, with the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah urging a thorough probe. The Israeli army confirmed the detention of 90 individuals and the discovery of weapons and munitions inside the hospital, underscoring the complex and contentious nature of operations in such sensitive environments.
