Knesset member Danny Danon, shared his insights into the ongoing conflict during a recent appearance on the Israeli morning talk show on radio station 103 fm. His remarks shed light on various aspects of the situation, from US President Joe Biden's rumored visit to Israel to the responsibility of Israeli leadership in the face of a heinous terrorist attack.

At the outset of the conversation, MK Danon addressed the reports of President Biden's potential visit, stating, "I cannot confirm his visit, but the United States has consistently shown unwavering support for Israel. This support is not only evident in words but also in actions, permeating the entire nation and its media outlets. It underscores the understanding that this conflict is a battle between good and evil, and we are witnessing a commendable American mobilization in support of Israel."

Turning his attention to Minister Smotrich's acceptance of responsibility as part of the government for the recent terrorist attack, Danon refrained from issuing immediate judgments. He acknowledged the gravity of the ongoing crisis, saying, "This is an extremely challenging and significant event that we have all endured and continue to face. Leadership, including the government and the military, bears a certain level of responsibility. There exists an unspoken agreement between the public and its leadership, as well as the military, where they entrust us with their mandate for security. It's evident to everyone that the Prime Minister, as part of this leadership, remains committed to safeguarding our nation during this crucial phase. Discussing leadership roles does not diminish his dedication to managing the ongoing conflict. At this juncture, our focus should be on winning this war, which, ideally, will be brief but decisive. It's a responsibility shared by the entire government."

Responding to remarks made by the talk show hosts regarding President Biden's view that the majority of the Gazan population had no involvement in Hamas attacks, Danon offered a contrasting perspective. He emphasized, "Let's be clear, a significant portion of the Gazan population actively participated in the riots and attacks against the Jewish people. It wasn't just Hamas terrorists; it included ordinary Gazans who joined in. Additionally, with regard to the abductees, some of them are being held by private individuals."

When questioned about whether Israel should reoccupy the Gaza Strip, Danon clarified, "The notion of 'occupying' Gaza implies a permanent presence, which is not our intention. We don't seek to regain control of Gaza. However, when it comes to a comprehensive military operation, I am in support of such an approach. Anything less would be inadequate and fraught with challenges."
