The U.S. Marine Corps has used the Tamir interception system for the first time, which incorporates the Iron Dome interceptor: "The experiment demonstrated that the Iron Dome Tamir interceptor is capable of being integrated into any relevant air defense system."
According to the developers, the prototype of the MRIC system uses the GATOR radar and the CAC2S command and control system, together with the Tamir interceptor and the Iron Dome launcher, as part of a new air defense system adapted to the needs of the Marine Corps.
The experiment was conducted in the White Sands fields in the state of New Mexico in the US. As part of it, several targets were simulating cruise missiles, which were launched simultaneously on different routes and from different directions.

"The successful experiment showed that the Tamir Iron Dome interceptor, together with its ground alignment, can quickly and efficiently integrate into any relevant air defense system and intercept a variety of air threats in challenging and complex scenarios," said Moshe Fattal, a key figure at the Ministry of Defense.
Senior Vice President and Head of the Air Defense Systems Division at Raphael, Brigadier General (Res.) Pini Jungman added, "Once again, Raphael's systems have proven to integrate optimally with other weapon systems. This time the Iron Dome was integrated with the Navy's radar system and another reconnaissance system. This is a significant achievement for Rafael, for the Marines and the other customers in the United States and the international market."

The Ministry of Defense said that the Tamir interceptor is capable of intercepting cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and a variety of rockets, shells, and shrapnel. Rafael developed the interceptor.
The company's engineers were partners in adapting the Marine Corps' configuration and conducting the experiment. 'Magic wand', ' Arrow 2' and 'Arrow 3' systems.
"After going three-for-three at White Sands, the system is scheduled for one more testing event later this year before service brass make decisions about future funding."

Israel has been developing different air and ground defense systems for many decades and is considered one of the leading countries for such technology. Their defense superiority is mainly due to Israel’s unfortunate constant use of their systems around the Gaza strip and occasionally the Lebanese border.
