During the recent days of of the war in Israel, the elite fighters of the Israeli Defense Forces' (IDF) Maglan commando unit made history by employing the cutting-edge "Iron Sting" weapon in a targeted strike against a launch site operated by the terrorist organization Hamas. This launch site had been responsible for repeated rocket attacks aimed at Israeli territory.

The Iron Sting is a mortar bomb equipped with dual guidance systems, allowing for pinpoint accuracy when striking terrorist targets, particularly in densely populated areas. This precision not only maximizes the effectiveness of the strike but also minimizes the risk of collateral damage and harm to innocent civilians.

The commander of the Maglan unit, remarked, "We utilized the Iron Sting for the first time at the onset of the conflict. It affords us the capability to neutralize threats with unparalleled precision compared to other munitions. We no longer rely on blind shots; we know with certainty that we have eliminated the threat." This highly skilled team, trained to operate this specialized weapon, unleashed more than ten of these devastatingly accurate munitions across the Gaza periphery and northern sectors. Their actions successfully thwarted numerous terrorist targets, resulting in the neutralization of hundreds of terrorists and the prevention of infiltration attempts from the northern border.

Colonel Omer Cohen, the commander of the commando formation, praised the unit's precision, lethality, and the expertise of its fighters. He emphasized that the Magalan unit, in collaboration with the Air Force, had thwarted "Multiple terrorists using various means, with the Iron Sting's precision being a critical asset. Since the beginning of the war, the commando formation had engaged in fierce combat against the enemy, eliminating over 100 terrorists in the Gaza Strip.Together, we will achieve victory; I have complete confidence in our soldiers," declared Col. Cohen.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid a visit to the commando brigade stationed in the northern region of the country. During his visit, he received a comprehensive briefing from the brigade commander and the leader of the Magalan unit. Later, the Prime Minister was briefed on the formation's deployment across all sectors and the operational activities carried out by its dedicated soldiers in the southern sector, northern sector, and even in Judea and Samaria.

Addressing the commando troops, Prime Minister Netanyahu commended their vital role, saying, "What you are doing here, and the reports I've just received from your commanders, are of utmost importance. You are neutralizing Hezbollah members who seek to threaten our frontlines. I cannot predict whether Hezbollah will decide to fully engage in this conflict. If they do, they will regret it profoundly, and miss the days of the Second Lebanon War. We possess a formidable force that they can scarcely imagine, and the consequences for both Hezbollah and the state of Lebanon would be devastating. Nevertheless, we are fully prepared for any scenario. You, too, are prepared for any eventuality."
