On Tuesday, the Israel Innovation Authority, a dynamic and independent publicly funded agency dedicated to fostering groundbreaking innovation ecosystems, together with their American partner, Space Florida, the Sunshine State’s premier aerospace finance and development authority, proudly unveiled the recipients of the 11th round of funding from the prestigious Space Florida-Israel Innovation Partnership Program.

This celebrated program has been a driving force in the research, development, and commercialization of aerospace and related technology projects, significantly boosting both Florida’s and Israel’s economies since its inception in 2013. To date, this powerful collaboration has funneled over $22 million into pioneering research that has the potential to reshape the future of aerospace technology.

This Year's Visionary Award Recipients:

1. KBR Wyle Services (Titusville, Florida) and Purammon LTD (Israel):
These two trailblazing companies are set to revolutionize wastewater treatment in crewed spaceflight. Their innovative system, rooted in advanced electrochemistry, promises to deliver substantial size, weight, and operational advantages over existing biological and chemical technologies, marking a significant leap forward in space sustainability.

2. Lockheed Martin (Merritt Island, Florida) and StemRad (Israel):

In a groundbreaking partnership, these industry giants will further develop crucial systems and technologies to protect astronauts from the perilous radiation that poses severe risks during crewed space missions. As humanity prepares for more ambitious space explorations, the need for robust radiation shielding becomes ever more critical to safeguard astronauts from acute radiation-induced illnesses and cancers.

3. Guident Autonomous Intelligence (Boca Raton, Florida) and Novelsat Limited (Israel):
This dynamic duo will focus on enhancing autonomous vehicle communication systems through low-latency satellite services. Their project aims to elevate teleoperation safety by integrating research-based methods and rigorous testing to ensure seamless functionality across diverse scenarios, paving the way for safer and more reliable autonomous transportation.

4. SRF Consulting Group (Tallahassee, Florida) and Mobility Insight (Israel):
Together, they will develop, deploy, and manage a pilot of Mobi’s Traffic Management as a Service (TMaaS) system in Central Florida. This state-of-the-art system harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to analyze transportation and related data, creating a comprehensive network-level awareness that can predict traffic issues and devise strategies to mitigate or prevent them, revolutionizing urban mobility management.
