The IDF worked with Egypt & targeted ISIS in Sinai

Former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot revealed during a Sunday afternoon lecture at the Institute for National Security Studies that in 2015 Israel was asked to carry out an attack against ISIS; resulting in the death of hundreds of ISIS terrorists.

"The campaign against ISIS was intense and in much more than one country with results that in some places surpass all imagination in the type of operations and attacks carried out. Some of the operations went under the radar. The Israel Defense Forces were involved in this campaign; both the army, the air force, special units, and foreign relations all participated" Eisenkot said. According to him, "the ISIS phenomenon took a turn for us in 2015 when there is an event in a certain place where we are asked to carry out an attack on, we ended up carrying out a relatively broad attack and harmed a great many ISIS members."

"There are not many countries in the world that know how to locate targets the size of a podium and put a missile on that (specific) target within a 1000-kilometer radius except for Israel. Our enemies have seen it, the Russians have seen it, and the Americans have seen it. Those who know best how much the IDF has operated throughout the Middle East are ISIS members because they paid the price of hundreds of dead and wounded."

In 2018, the "New York Times" reported on close security cooperation between Israel and Egypt during which the IDF attacked about a hundred different ISIS targets in Sinai. According to the report, all the Israeli attacks were approved by the Egyptians and were carried out out with close intelligence cooperation between the two allied countries.

It also emerged from him that Israeli military aid to Egypt began immediately after the downing of the Russian plane by the terrorist organization in 2015. In 2018, the terrorist organization ISIS also published a video in which an operative of the organization was filmed in the Sinai, showing the remnants of an Israeli missile that he claims was launched from an Israeli Air Force jet: "Israel is attacking the Sinai, Nablus, and all Arabs." In the video, the activist is seen standing with behind him the chassis of a burned vehicle that, he claims, was hit by the Israeli missile. "These are the remnants of the bombings of the Jews, which the dictator Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is aiding."
