Map showing proximity of Hezbollah tents to IDF posts

Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz spoke Sunday morning on the Radio show program of Nissim Mashal and Anat Davidov and referred to the two tents and a military position that the terrorist organization Hezbollah set up in the Mount Dov area, as well as being asked whether Israel is facing an escalation in the northern sector. โ€œIsrael is preparing for any possible development Against Hezbollah in Lebanon and in general against everything that is happening in Lebanon," he said at the beginning of the interview.

"This issue of Hezbollah's invasion and the crossing of the borderline at Mount Dov is something that is being tried to be handled through diplomatic means, but in any case, we will not allow it to continue. We will eliminate this invasion one way or another. Israel is not interested in war, the blow it will suffer and Lebanon will suffer, will be a severe blow unlike what happened in the Second Lebanon War. We don't want that."

When asked by the interviewers how much more of this provocation Israel can continue to absorb, he replied: "Israel is a strong, powerful country. It has a responsible leadership that knows how to steer things and we will know how to do things the right way. As a result of miscalculation, it can also reach extreme situations, a real war in which we have no interest. We will not allow this position to remain. We will find ways to make sure that it does not happen. The easiest thing is to press the war button, we are not interested in getting to that, but we will not allow the crossing of red lines, and Nasrallah should know It".

Meanwhile, a member of the Lebanese parliament on behalf of Hezbollah commented Saturday afternoon on the developments and scolded Israel while refusing to remove Hezbollah's presence on Israeli territory. "Israel demands that these two tents be vacated and prefers that Hezbollah vacate them because it is not interested in war," said Lebanese member of parliament Mohammad Raed. "If the enemy doesn't want war, then let him be quiet and angry."

A Lebanese website reported this week that Hezbollah conveyed to UNIFIL, the temporary UN force in Lebanon, its refusal to evacuate these two tents. The report stated that Hezbollah was "prepared for any development" and emphasized that from the organization's point of view, the two tents were set up in what they consider to be a "liberated area", therefore it will not withdraw from there.
