Video capture of terrorists celebrating the release of a prisoner

The terrorist Osama Al-Salal, active in the Fatah organization, was released Thursday night from Israeli prison after 17 years of serving a prison sentence for carrying out multiple terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens.

Despite the release being carried out late at night to prevent celebrations, hundreds of residents of the village of Bnei Naim in the Mount Hebron area welcomed the terrorist in a special compound set up in his honor, accompanied by music and a large procession accompanied by non-stop gunfire into the night.

In the footage taken from the “liberation” celebrations of Osama, the released terrorist can be seen shooting several times into the air while standing next to his supporters. It should be noted that the directive on the release late at night was initiated by the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, in order to disrupt the celebrations planned in the terrorist's home village in the Mount Hebron area.

Israelis living in the communities around Bnei Naim were afraid of the mass victory celebrations planned in the village, which usually include convoys of vehicles traveling dangerously on the traffic routes, as well as heavy shooting into the air as a sign of victory, and occasionally also turn into targeted shooting at Jewish communities or passengers.

The Israeli citizens in the area turned to Minister Ben Gvir and asked for his intervention. Despite the vehicle that was already waiting for the terrorist in the Katziot prison, Minister Ben Gabir's instructions delayed the release until late at night in order to reduce the celebrations planned in the village.

The village of Bnei Naim is in Area A, which is not under Israel's jurisdiction, and therefore the police cannot be ordered to enter the village and prevent the celebrations. Ben Gvir ordered the Judea region of the police to secure the axis from the checkpoint to the village, to ensure that there will be no delay in traffic, waving of terrorist organizations' flags, or manifestations of incitement.

The message distributed to the Israeli nearby residents ahead of Osama’s release read: "For your information, due to a reception for a released prisoner that is planned at the entrance to the village of Bnei Naim in the afternoon, gunshots are expected to be heard in the area of the nearby settlements. In addition, there may be gatherings and traffic congestion on the roads near the crossing to Bnei Naim starting at 4:00 p.m.”

After the message was sent, residents of Mount Hebron were outraged that the Israel Defense Forces and the police did not intend to prevent the celebrations or the shootings. As mentioned, at the direction of Minister Ben Gvir, the release was delayed until late at night but his efforts were of no use as the celebrations simply continued into the night rather than being limited to the terrorist’s expected arrival.
