As the war in Israel enters its 34th day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are persisting in their operations within the Gaza Strip. The IDF spokesperson has declared that Hamas has lost control over the northern section of the Gaza Strip. Simultaneously, IDF operations have extended into the Jenin refugee camp in Samaria, where they have arrested several terrorists and seized illegal weaponry. Yesterday, a Palestinian shooting attack targeted Israeli civilians in Samaria, injuring two individuals. However, a baby, who was also present in the car at the time of the attack, miraculously escaped unscathed.

The IDF spokesperson provided detailed insights into the night-long battles that occurred in western Jabaliya, where the Nahal Brigade finally gained control over a significant Hamas outpost. According to the IDF "The fighters of the Nahal Brigade's combat team concluded an operation to seize Outpost 17, a critical military stronghold of the terrorist organization in the northern Gaza Strip.”

"During the operation to capture the outpost, our troops engaged in fierce combat against Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists who were stationed in the outpost, both above ground and within an underground tunnel in the vicinity. After approximately 10 hours of intense fighting, during which numerous terrorists were neutralized and a significant amount of weaponry was seized, our forces successfully took over the outpost."

The IDF spokesperson further revealed that the soldiers discovered several terrorist tunnel shafts, including one located dangerously close to a kindergarten, which led to an extensive underground network. "During the operation, the Nahal forces obtained significant operational materials detailing the enemy's operational plans," the IDF spokesperson added. IDF spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Hagari announced that approximately 50,000 Gazans have relocated from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip today. "The IDF will also permit Gazans to move to the south of the Gaza Strip tomorrow. Hamas has lost control over the northern Gaza Strip," he declared.

Throughout the night, IDF forces, in coordination with the Shin Bet and Police Border Patrol units, arrested nine wanted individuals in Judea and Samaria. In a proactive operation to neutralize terrorist infrastructure in the Jenin refugee camp, engineering vehicles discovered and destroyed dozens of improvised explosive devices. The forces also launched an airborne attack on armed individuals who posed a threat. During the operation, terrorists retaliated by shooting and throwing explosives at the forces, who returned fire. In the village of Yavd in northwestern Samaria, Israeli soldiers located and confiscated several weapons and explosives.

The Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, where the two wounded individuals from the Samaria car shooting were taken, reported that they are now in moderate condition. The two victims, a young man, and a woman, suffered penetrating injuries. A baby girl who was also in the vehicle during the attack was unharmed and was transferred to Schneider Hospital for further examination.

The police have further updated that a total of 845 civilians, who were not armed soldiers, were killed during the Hamas attack on October 7th. The delay in the identification of all the victims is attributed to the severity of the condition of their remains.
