An IDF Jeep is towed away in undated photo

Two jeeps belonging to the Israel Defense Forces were ambushed by local Arabs armed with homemade explosives and rocks just north of Hebron in Judea after they became stuck on a tight road near the Arab village of Beit Omar. The vehicles and soldiers within were eventually rescued by other troops nearby, leading to 10 injured Palestinians and one dead.

In addition to the Hebron incident, Palestinians reported that a young man named Javad Rimavi, a graduate of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Bir Zeit University, was killed in a confrontation with IDF forces in Kfar Ein, north of Ramallah.

The brother of Rimavi called Daver was seriously injured in the armed altercation with IDF forces and was pronounced dead hours later. This intense night of armed altercations and hostility is yet another sign of worsening relations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

In a tone-deaf statement that ignored the fact the Rimavi brothers were shooting at IDF forces when they were neutralized, Hamas spokesman Hazem Kassem said in response that "the occupation is expanding its aggression, and this morning killed three of our Palestinian people, including two brothers, in the West Bank."

Doubling down on the blatant ignorance of the facts, Kassem added: "The occupation is trying in an unfortunate way to stop the legitimate struggle of our people to regain their land and freedom through killing and assassinations, but this blood will be Fuel for our people's revolution." In Ramallah, a general strike was declared and is being supported by the Palestinian Authority.

Some officials are presuming that the advanced age of Mahmoud Abbas, known widely as 'Abu Mazen' is a core reason for the spike in terrorist attacks and violent uprisings. The fight for succession is typically a bloody one and in this case, various factions are trying to establish themselves before Abbas dies. A statement released by an anonymous IDF source clearly puts Abu Mazen at the center of all recent Palestinian terrorism. "Even if 20,000-30,000 Palestinians do not come out to violate the curfew order in the cities, it is enough for 100 armed men to come out at the same time to shoot and hit, with the support of another 100, to change the map completely," The statement read.

“Every Palestinian city has a lot of weapons. 'The day after' Abu Mazen is already here. We see this in the weakening of the security mechanisms in Nablus and Jenin, in the establishment of new terrorist organizations such as the 'Lions Den' as well as in the camps of armed factions. Hamas and Islamic Jihad don't need to do much beyond handing out a few hundred shekels to each victim.

The ambush in Hebron Monday night and altercation in Ramallah was followed by a terrorist attack Tuesday morning in Samaria, resulting in one woman being severely injured.
