Promotion for a Palestinian music video called, literally, "The Lovers of Stabbing."

The seeds for a new wave of what Israelis called the “Knife Intifada” seems to be in place. Early Sunday morning, Israel Defense Forces soldiers shot dead a Palestinian militant who ran towards them with a knife near the Arab village of Silwad within the area of Israel’s Benjamin Regional Council and tried to steal the soldier's weapons. There were no casualties among the soldiers.

The armed man was Ahmed Hassan Abdel Galil Kahala, a 45-year-old resident of the village of Ramon north of Ramallah. The incident occurred while Palestinians were throwing stones at a military force patrolling the area when the Palestinian got out of a car armed with a knife and approached the soldiers. After he was shot, he was taken to the hospital, where the Palestinian Ministry of Health later announced his death.

According to an initial investigation by the IDF, the terrorist tried to steal a weapon from one of the fighters before being shot by the force from the Kfir Brigade. Video documentation from the event explicitly shows the terrorists struggling with the IDF forces. It should be noted that current IDF guidelines do not permit soldiers to open fire when they spot an armed civilian, but only when they are directly being attacked, therefore the soldiers were unable to open fire until Ahmed was literally threatening their lives.

The Palestinian leadership has been increasingly vocal about armed resistance. In late 2022, an official from the ruling Fatah party, the political group which is Yasser Arafat's Palestine Liberation Organization that rules the Palestinian Authority, called for increased knife attacks and car-ramming attacks. Billboards, ads, and music videos in Palestine glorify these types of attacks, calling the perpetrators of these attacks 'heroes' of Palestine.

The events from Binyamin this morning come just after Last Wednesday, 29-year-old Elyashiv Nahum was moderately injured from knife wounds at the farm where he lives, near the settlement of Shema on Mount Hebron. The terrorist who attacked Nahum was shot and killed.

Nahum was taken to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva. Luckily his wife and children left the farm just a few minutes before the attack by chance. The terrorist stabbed Nahum from behind in the neck and head, and another armed Israeli citizen who was nearby fired at the terrorist and neutralized him, the armed Palestinian was then taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

MDA paramedic Elyashiv Ameti told reporters about the attack on Mount Hebron last week: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the wounded man fully conscious while suffering from open wounds on his upper body. We gave him medical treatment that included initially stopping the bleeding and evacuating him for further treatment in the hospital when his condition was moderate and stable. The terrorist was neutralized."
