Israeli security forces arrested two terror suspects in Nablus Monday morning who are alleged to be the culprits in a recent shooting attacks that took place in Huwara about a week and a half ago in which two Israel Defense Forces soldiers were moderately injured. The Palestinian media reported that the two arrested were Nidal Tabanja and Eaz Tukan. According to the reports, two other Palestinian militants that were known to the Shin Bet security service were killed in an exchange of fire that developed between armed Palestinians and Israel's security taskforce that came to make the arrest. 

During the mission which took place in the “Casbah” area of Nablus, Arabic for the central town square, and in another neighborhood within the city, forces of the Duvdevan unit and border patrol units engaged with armed Palestinians. Local reports indicated heavy gunfire heard in Nablus at the time of the arrest. The duvdevan unit operated in the Casbah, where one of the wanted was arrested, while the other was arrested by the Border Patrol in the Ras Al Ain neighborhood.

The activity of the IDF force in the Casbah took a short time from entry into the place until the arrest of the wanted person. From there the force continued to another area, where they confiscated a vehicle that was used to assist the escape of the terrorist Abdel Fatah Harusha, a Hamas man from Nablus who shot and killed the Yaniv brothers in the first shooting attack in Huwara over a month ago.

Judea and Samaria Border Patrol units operated in the nearby neighborhood of Ras Al Ain and arrested the second wanted person who was hiding in an apartment, where a gun, ammunition, and military equipment were found. There was an exchange of fire with the Israeli forces, and a shot was also fired at an undercover Golani patrol force that was there to provide cover. The two Palestinians who were killed were injured in this exchange of fire.

In addition, during the night the IDF forces arrested another wanted person suspected of involvement in terrorist activities in the village of Wadi Siman. The arrested suspects, the confiscated vehicle, the military equipment, and the gun were transferred to the security forces for further treatment.

There were no casualties among the security forces. According to a report by the Red Crescent in Nablus, apart from the two armed Palestinian terrorists who were killed, 55 were injured by tear gas, five houses were evacuated and an ambulance belonging to the organization was also damaged.
