A recent joint operation of the Israeli federal security service Shin Bet and the Central command for the Police’s Northern District revealed that a 19-year-old man and two boys from the Nazareth area were arrested for questioning on suspicion of supporting the Hamas organization and intending to carry out local terrorist activities inspired by the organization.

The three detainees participated in Hamas rallies wearing flags and singing songs of praise for the organization. In addition, it became clear as part of the investigation that one of them was filmed by the Al-Aqsa Mosque while expressing solidarity with and support for the internationally recognized terrorist organization. The findings of the investigation also showed that the three produced Molotov cocktails, which they planned to throw at the security forces as part of the civil disruptions that occurred in their village, against the background of the Israel Defense Forces operation in Jenin. One of the suspects even took a picture on the roof of a house in his village holding a weapon while wrapped in Hamas flags.

The police stated that "the investigation revealed a worrying picture according to which young Israeli-Arab boys are absorbing content that shows identification with terrorist organizations and therefore promoting serious security activity, especially in light of the ease of access to weapons even at a young age. The terrorist organization Hamas continues to work to spread its ideology among the citizens of the State of Israel and its residents and, among other things, works to recruit them through propaganda. Much of the recruiting is done on the Temple Mount and is supported on social media networks like Telegram where an abundance of high-quality video content tailored to teenagers is created that glorifies terrorists, with the aim of promoting terrorist activity in Israel."

On Monday afternoon an indictment was filed against the three in the District Court in Nazareth, which includes a request for their arrest until the end of the legal proceedings against them.

The news of the arrests came after it was reported in Israel that a Hamas unit in Jenin fired a small rocket from Jenin toward an Israeli settlement. According to the sign that appeared in the video hung onto the rocket, the terror cell of the "Al-Iyash Battalion" affiliated with Hamas, launched two missiles from west of Jenin towards the settlement of Shaked. It is also written that the missiles are of the Qassam 1 model, and were launched on July 10. Also, it was emphasized on the sign that what comes next will be greater.

Just a week ago, Operation "Bayit Ve'Gan" (Home & Garden) ended in the Jenin camp. After 48 hours of fighting in the Jenin Refugee camp and the city itself, the Israeli security forces left it. During this period, several activities were carried out, including arrests, investigations, the seizure of military equipment, exposure of laboratories for creating charges and other means of warfare, and explosives laboratories. Also, for the first time in decades, the Israeli Air Force attacked Judea and Samaria with the use of drones and precision weaponry.
