The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday morning the heartbreaking news of the death of Corporal Noa Marciano, a 19-year-old from Modi'in. Corporal Marciano served in an intelligence gathering unit within the 414th Battalion, Border Protection Corps. In an official statement from the IDF spokesperson, it was revealed that she had been tragically taken by the terrorist organization Hamas.

Just last night, Hamas released a distressing video featuring Corporal Marciano in captivity. Shortly after the video's publication, a representative from the IDF visited her family's residence. Israeli news channels made a conscious decision not to broadcast the footage, citing its intent to inflict psychological terror. Based on the video allegedly showing Marciano dead due to Israeli bombardments, it was determined by IDF analysts she was in fact beaten to death.

Approximately two weeks ago, Noa's mother, Adi, expressed her anxieties in an interview with Yedioth Ahronoth reporters, saying, "I worry about her, perhaps she doesn't have her glasses with her. I fear for her safety. She's only 19; what is happening? As her mother, I sense that she is alive but desperately seeking help."

The last conversation between Noa and her mother occurred at 7:30 AM on October 7, while she was stationed at her IDF base. Adi Marciano recounted, "She mentioned she had found cover. She quickly reported an intrusion without sounding surprised. She kept repeating that the situation was 'hot,' with suspicious activity. However, she didn't disclose the details of their actions, and I presumed it was classified information."

Haim Bibas, the Mayor of Modi'in-Maccabim-Reut, expressed his condolences in a heartfelt eulogy: "This is the most devastating news of all. Corporal Noa Marciano, who was kidnapped on Saturday, October 7, 2023, has been confirmed as deceased. Dear Marciano family, words cannot adequately console you for this profound loss and pain. On my behalf and on behalf of all the residents of Modi'in-Maccabim-Reut, we share in your deepest sorrow."

Around ten days ago, during a meeting with the families of the abducted soldiers, Defense Minister Yoav Galant emphasized, "Hamas is enduring severe setbacks on the battlefield and is resorting to psychological warfare in the most sensitive and agonizing ways. Hamas is a ruthless, inhumane organization that shows no desire to improve the living conditions of Gaza's citizens. The military pressure we exert also contributes to our efforts to secure the return of the abducted soldiers."

Meanwhile, the IDF continues to intensify its operations in the Gaza Strip. On Tuesday morning, further evidence of these operations surfaced in the form of a photograph featuring Golani soldiers proudly displaying the Israeli flag inside the headquarters of Hamas' military police, which they had successfully captured. These soldiers belong to Golani's 13th Battalion, a unit that tragically lost 41 of its members in the terrorist attack on October 7. They also took photos with Israeli flags in the organization's Legislative Council building.
